Deck the halls, don your gay apparel, and join Paul Nicholas's world. Christmas is more than just his favorite holiday --- it's a way of life. His family is known throughout suburban Bergen County, New Jersey for their spectacular Christmas decorations and holiday spirit. This year, however, brings disaster.
How was Paul supposed to know that his so-perfect girlfriend Sarah was more interested in Scooby the Skanky Mall Santa than she was in him, just because Scooby could afford to buy her expensive presents? He could have dealt with that, maybe, supported by a lot of cheese fries and pep talks from his best friend Holly. But when his father is electrocuted while hanging Christmas lights and the roof catches fire, Paul is convinced that this Christmas will be nothing short of heinous.
In his new spirit, he joins the Anti-Christmas Underground, a group of people whose goal is to make Christmas miserable for everyone. Paul's plans to take revenge on Scooby backfire, and he thinks the despair will never end. Perhaps a visit from Santa will change Paul's outlook on Christmas.
Fluffier than fake snow, JINGLE BOY is the perfect book to read next to a fire with a cup of hot chocolate. Though the constantly witty dialogue is can sometimes unnerving, anyone who isn't the Grinch will like this funny tale of revenge, love, family and appreciating the most important things in life. A great book to get --- and give!
