Teenreads Interviews 7 Readers Circle Authors...
http://www.randomhouse.com/teens/readerscirclenewsletter.html
Happy Day Before Summer!

While here in the New York area the calendar is trapped on April Showers, it IS less than 24 hours till summer. After all, June 21st is something besides the day that the new Harry Potter comes out. But with the weather the way it is, it's way more fun to talk about Harry. Maybe he will kick the April Showers away on page one!

Are you planning to read the book? Write us at Talkback@teenreads.com and let us know!

We love meeting authors. Whenever we do we get a chance to see a whole new side of their books.

Recently, Teenreads.com sat down with seven authors of young adult fiction who are participating in the Readers Circle program. (And for the record, we read each of their books in the program before we talked to them, which made the interview a lot more meaningful!)

Jennifer Armstrong, Adam Bagdasarian, Kimberly Willis Holt, Lois Lowry, Ruth Pennebaker, Louis Sachar and Janet Tashjian discussed a wide variety of topics, including the process of writing a novel, the enthusiasm that young people share for reading, and their upcoming works.

You can see the interview on the home page of Teenreads.com and also learn who's who in the photo that we took!

In our recent survey more than 59% of you expressed an interest in being in a book club. For some great ideas on how to get started, click on the link below and sign up for the Readers-Circle.com newsletter!

Here's to the weather catching up with the calendar soon.

Have a great month...

Readers Circle --- Great Books To Read With A Book Club
http://www.teenreads.com/guides/readers_circle_index.asp
What do you do when you're reading a book that is so good --- so provocative -- that you just have to talk to someone about it? Why not do something about it? A book group is a great way to bring friends together to share your love of reading and inspire great conversations.

Wondering what to read? We have found a program called Readers Circle that has 18 books that are perfect choices. No matter what your reading preferences are --- contemporary fiction, humor, mysteries, history, classics --- you'll find a Readers Circle book to suit your taste.

What makes Readers Circle books special is that there's a Reader's Guide in every book (we also have them online for you right here at Teenreads.com). Perfect for book groups, this guide provides intriguing discussion questions, revealing author interviews, in-depth author biographies, insight into the writing process and recommendations for further reading.

There are 18 titles to choose from!

Tell Us What You Think:
http://www.teenreads.com/HarperTempest/HarperTempest.asp
Your opinion matters to the publishers at HarperTempest. Each month they are going to share a not-yet-published title with us that they'd like to hear YOUR thoughts about. It's your chance to read an advanced reading copy of a book (known as an ARC) and tell them what YOU think! What could be more fun than a chance to preview a new book and then share your opinion? It's your chance to be a trendsetter!

This month's book is INSIDE OUT by Terry Trueman, which is due in stores in August 2003.

I CAPTURE THE CASTLE, One of the Century's Most Beloved Novels Is Coming to Theatres
http://www.capturethecastlemovie.com
The brightly witty and adventuresome story of seventeen-year-old Cassandra Mortmain is coming to select theatres beginning July 11. Cassandra (Romola Garai) is an aspiring writer who strives to hone her writing skills by filling journals with sharply funny yet poignant entries about her family who live in not-so-genteel poverty in a ramshackle English castle. Candidly chronicling the great changes that take place within the old castle's walls, especially those of her beautiful sister Rose (Rose Byrne), Cassandra begins revealing her own first descent into love when she meets the two young American men who inherit the estate (Marc Blucas & Henry Thomas).

"Charming and Elegantly cast! Wonderful performances by Romola Garai & Rose Byrne. Brings out the charm and warmth of the original book."
--Mark Adams, Hollywood Reporter
