March 2002

Dear Readers,

While we get books into the offices of Teenreads.com every day, we got one yesterday that really caught our eye --- AIMEE by Mary Beth Miller, which is being published in May. Here's a bit about it:

Even though she was acquitted, it seems that everyone -- even her own parents -- believes that Zoe helped her best friend, Aimee, commit suicide. Now, months later, her family has moved to a new town to escape the stigma of the trial, and Zoe is completely cut off from her group of friends. In her new life Zoe is paralyzed by loneliness, guilt, and anger at everyone's suppression of the truth. As she writes in her journal, Zoe gradually lets readers into her world, a world where parents don't listen, thereapists don't help, and best friends betray you. In the end Zoe realizes that she never could have saved Aimee, but she might be able to save herself.

We wanted to give ten of you a chance to take a sneak peek at Aimee and tell us what YOU think about it. Write us at Talkback@teenreads.com and let us know if you would be interested in reading it and giving us some feedback about it by April 5th. Please only reply if you think you have time for this as we are very interested in sharing your comments with other readers.
