Dixie Storms by Barbara Hall

I just started this book last night. It's a fast read, but it's great so far. It's about a 14-year- old girl growing up during a drought that will change her family and her community.

Sarah
Harley Like a Person by Cat Bauer
Rating: 5 Stars
The main character, Harley, goes through basic teenage experiences all the while in search for her father. I fell in love with the character immediately, even though we are nothing alike, which is one of my favorite things to experience when I read a book.

Sarah
Paper Towns by John Green
Rating: 5 Stars
You should totally read the reviews and stuff for this book, because I'm not the very best at doing that myself. One thing I can say: I couldn't put the book down; I read it in less than a week.

The book kept me reading until the ungodly hours of the night, even when I had school. I just could't put it down. As the tale unfolded before me, I understood more about the first book, GRACELING, while learning of the new life of Fire. Everyone who loves love, please check this book out!

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
Rating: 5 Stars
I love this book and am excited for the movie to come out December 11. This book is about a family coping with the death of a sister/daughter/grandaughter. The dad has a feeling he knows who the killer is but the police don't believe him. Susie watches from her place in heaven the lives of her family, friends, and her killer. This book has a roller coaster of emotions. If you thought about reading this book I suggest you hurry up and get a yourself a copy before the movie comes to theaters.

Mallory
Blue Moon by Alyson Noel
Rating: 5 Stars
This book kept me hooked. It had surprising twists. This is the second book in the series of THE IMMORTALS. I love the chemistry and love between Ever and Damen. I felt Ever's pain when something was going wrong with Damen. This book keeps you in suspense all the way till the very end.

Mandy

Rating: 5 Stars
It will teach us girls a lot about friendship. You will fall in love with the book. There's a lot of action and you are just going to fall in love with it.

Cat the librarian
Unwind by Neal Shusterman
Rating: 3 Stars
I like this book, but not as much as other dystopian novels. I just couldn't quite suspend my disbelief. I can't see our society becoming both medically advanced and legislatively unethical enough to "unwind" and reuse all the parts (or 98%) of teens within a few generations of now. Well-paced and likable characters, though.

CloClo
The Schwa Was Here by Nel Shusterman

This is a beautiful book, strategically located in the Medival Ages and portrays Beauty as an incredibly addictive drug with disastrous results, as most often the case wih today.

Paola
The Blue Girl by Charlse De Lint
Rating: 4 Stars
It is a good book but at parts a bit confusing.

Kelly
City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare
Rating: 5 Stars
I found out about this book from a girl on youtube (for a book club). I thought I'd try it, from the very first page i was hooked. I need to know what will happen to Jace and Clary? This book is so deliciously good I couldn't put it down. I'm as obsessed with it as i was with The Twilight Series, and The Princess Diaries! I can't wait to go pick up the next book (CITY OF ASHES) in the series! Plus it doesn't hurt that Stephenie Meyer loves the series as well!

Priscilla
Tithe by Holly Black
Rating: 4 Stars
I really liked this book! I'm not usually into books about faeries, but this one was pretty good. I'd definitely reccomend it.

Ashley
After by Amy Efaw
Rating: 5 Stars
I was very apprehensive before I began this novel but it was AMAZING! It is about a girl who has a baby and throws it away. I had a strong opinion of the subject before I read it. I think everyone needs to read it!

Jasindo
The Fortunes of Indigo Skye by Deb Caletti
Rating: 2 Stars
Due to many unfortunate circumstances, it took me nearly four months to complete this book. I realize that this alone may have been an impediment to my enjoyment of the novel, but it contained other detrimental factors that cannot be ignored. Throughout the text, Deb Caletti seems to be writing an extended lecture to her readers on her personal views of life. In fact, her beliefs are so copious that her work reads as a disguised philosophy book. She even includes quotes from Emerson! In the fashion that Mama Mia! was pieced together through songs by Abba, this book seems to be written around its author’s values with all other content merely being inserted in the space between topics. I can practically see Caletti contemplating over the best ways to indoctrinate her readers. While every author has the right to do this, I am adamantly averse to the various forms of propaganda. The remainder of the novel—that which is not thick with Caletti’s theology—did not exactly inspire me to continue reading either. Many passages were dull and seemingly pointless. The narrator, Indigo, became exceedingly exasperating after the first few chapters.
Caletti’s choice of language also mystifies me. In one sentence she lets loose of a few curse words and other teenage idioms, but in the next paragraph she unleashes a flurry of blissful descriptions overflowing with ingenious metaphors. Caletti is indeed a gifted writer, but perhaps other fields of the industry are better suited to her talents.

Erika
The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan
Rating: 5 Stars
This last novel which is the last installment of the Percy Jackson series was excellent and enthusiastic. This fantasy novel included everything readers want to read about: fantasy, adventure, action, romance, and betrayal. There were riddles in this book that helps readers predict how the ending will be. But the ending will be surprising and unexpected. Based on my opinion, I loved the ending and it was an excellent and appropriate ending too.

B. Joshi

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Rating: 5 Stars
I was skeptical when I first picked up this book; what interest would I find in a story about to kids killing other kids? I'm so glad that I decided to pick it up anyways, because I hadn't read such a good book in a very long time. The characters are excellent, and the story keeps you up into the late hours of the night trying to find out more. A truly excellent novel with a bone-chilling message. I loved it.

Haley
Message In a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks

Harry is trained for war and finds out about her kelar which is a fancy word for magic. It is totally amazing. I've read it seven times and still counting.

John Green is one of my favorite authors, and reading his very first book again always reminds me about just how precious and fragile life is.

Angela Hightower
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
Rating: 5 Stars
CATCHING FIRE is the second installment in The Hunger Games Trilogy. The book contains even more plot twists and complications than THE HUNGER GAMES and left me wanting more!!! Peeta and Katniss are once again forced to fight for their survival in the area and the hope of their survival is even slimmer than before. I can't wait for the third and final book to hit the shelves.

Morgan
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
Rating: 5 Stars
Amazing! Better, and thoroughly more nerve-racking than the first installment. I was completely afraid to read the book when I first got it... I had to wait several days before I would even pick it up, I was so afraid of what was coming. It was a complete tear-jerker. Everyone needs to read the Hunger Games Trilogy!

Miss Mary
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
Rating: 5 Stars
I have to say that I enjoyed this book even more that TWILIGHT! I love the excerpts of Rilke, and the overall feel of the romance between Sam and Grace. They're relationship was more realistic than Edward and Bella.

Rating: 5 Stars
This is the first series written by Tamora Pierce several years ago. It consists of four books about Alanna a young girl who disguises herself as a boy and is trying to become a night. I just finished this series in about a week or so. The books are fairly short and quick reads, but are so wonderful and full of adventure. A must read for all fantasy lovers!
