Elizabeth

Rating: 5 Stars
One of the best books I have ever read! If you like fantasy, then you will love MAGYK!

Judith
A Perfect Harmony by Roger Caras
Rating: 4 Stars
The dog is the first animal to be domesticated, thousands of years ago.

Sadia
Ruby by Francesca Lia Block
Rating: 5 Stars
It's a great book, and the way the author has written it is excellent. You won't feel like putting it down.

Evelyn
Being by Kevin Brooks
Rating: 5 Stars
I'm in the middle of this book and it's great! This is about Robert, who goes to the doctors for a regular endoscopy and when he accidently wakes up from his anasthesized state, he hears people exclaiming "what is that, what is he?" Robert learns that his body is not regular, and now he's on a terrifying quest to learn what he is!!!

Trang
The Keeper's Shadow by Dennis Foon
Rating: 5 Stars
I really enjoyed this book because every sentence is powerful. There are lots of side plots in the story, and lots of conflicts that the characters go through. These characters are memorable, which I think adds to the story even more. They don't seem 2D at all, they seem real. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Courtney B.
Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr
Rating: 3 Stars
This book is pretty good. The author makes the faery world really come alive. The only thing I didn't like was the relationship between the main characters. It was very unrealistic and almost too sweet, but who doesn't love a good romance? :]

Bigz
The Pearl by John Steinbeck
Rating: 5 Stars
John Steinbeck is my all-time favorite author. I read this book for a school project and I just couldn't put it down; that's how great it is. Oh, by the way, I got a 97 on my project.

Bigz
Night by Elie Wiesel
Rating: 5 Stars
An awesome memoir from a concentration camp survivor. He goes in depth about the horrors of the camp and his loss of faith. It was a really terrific book about a heart-wrenching subject.

Bigz
Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred D. Taylor
Rating: 3 Stars
The book had a really good plot, but the way it was written left me feeling a little disappointed.

athleticsbabe
The Clique by Lisi Harrison
Rating: 5 Stars
i <3 these books...keep 'em coming Lisi!

Rachel
The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice
Rating: 5 Stars
This is an amazing book with lots of twists and turns. It is even better than the first book in the series, which is INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE. Annie Rice totally switches your perspective about Lestat and vampires and how they are not as monstrous as they seem.

Julia
Ophelia by Lisa Klein
Rating: 5 Stars
This retelling of Shakespeare's HAMLET is in Ophelia's point of view. It starts with her poor beginning with her ambitious father, and playful brother. She becomes a favor of the queen and is intrigued by the young Hamlet. But as the original plotline of Hamlet begins to unfold, she begins to fear for not only her life, but also her love's.

Juwairia
The Face on the Milk Carton by Caroline B. Cooney
Rating: 5 Stars
This is an absolutely amazing thriller filled with suspense and action. The story's protagonist, Janie Johnson, is a regular teenager until she discovers a picture of herself on the Missing Children ad on the back of a milk carton at the school cafeteria. Join Janie on the twists and turns of her journey as she discovers the exciting, yet horrifying, truth about who she really is.

A Modern Elizabeth Bennet
Flirting with Pride and Prejudice by Jennifer Cusie
Rating: 4 Stars
Older, more mature readers will enjoy this PRIDE AND PREJUDICE review book. It takes a whole new perspective on the classic. I am almost done and have found several good chick-lit novelists. For female fans of Austen's novel, this is a must read.

ilona
It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini
Rating: 5 Stars
I loved this book, from beginning to end. The story will make you laugh and cry, and then feel guilty for laughing. When Craig lands himself into the adult psychiatric floor of his hospital, he ends up unexpectedly finding happiness. Craig discusses serious issues honestly, not holding anything back. As he finds his way in the world, so might you.

ilona
Looking For Alaska by John Green
Rating: 5 Stars
LOOKING FOR ALASKA will take you on a journey like no other, to "a Great Perhaps". As Miles packs up to move to a boarding school to start his journey in the Great Perhaps, he finds himself entangled with the people he meets almost more than he would like.

What you will get out of this book is found between the lines of the plot. John Green writes about delicate topics like spirituality, death, and life; he emphasizes the importance of being truly alive in the world.

ilona
Candy by Kevin Brooks
Rating: 5 Stars
Brooks's books are always conroversial, and this is my favorite. Joe's average life is turned upside down when he gets a taste of Candy --- a girl who lives in a dark, cruel world.

This book will make you see a world you've heard of, but didn't know much about. Candy will make you feel the characters' frustration and anger, and taste their pain and fear. Even though the book takes place in an ordinary setting, you will get a glimpse of a world that is full of fear and distorted values, the difficulties of turning your life around, and the consequences of disloyalty.

ilona
This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen
Rating: 5 Stars
Another one of my favorites. At first, it seemed like just another teen romance novel, but as I got into the story, it proved to be much more than that. It shows that love can be found in the most unexpected places and people, and that when you are about to give up, you may find a reason to hold on. Warms the heart --- I highly reccomend it.

ilona
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Rating: 5 Stars
This is probably my favorite book of all time. It is very unique. From the beginning, you know that it is no ordinary story when you find out that the narrator is Death. The thing I loved is that Death is captured in a completely different light --- you get to see some dimension and depth in this notorious character.

The book is set in Nazi Germany, and has content that you would and wouldn't expect about this subject. Zusak teaches us about the power and consequences of words as Liesel's story unfolds.

I read it in two days --- couldn't put it down.

Brooke
Major Crush by Jennifer Echols
Rating: 5 Stars
I think this is a very good book. Filled with romance, suspense, and comedy, you won't be able to put it down.

Daadouch
Give a Boy a Gun by Todd Strasser
Rating: 5 Stars
Amazing book about 2 boys who want to make people pay for the misery they have gone through. They want to recreate Columbine. What makes this book intresting is the fact that it is told by people who knew the 2 boys. The only time you hear the story from the boys' point of view is in their sucide notes.

Deidre
Lioness Rampant by Tamora Pierce
Rating: 5 Stars
This is an amazing read. I love the other books in the series, as well as the other books she has written. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys books with heroines, and those who aren't squemish :)

Rating: 4 Stars
HIGH SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL is about 24-year-old author Jeremy, and how he feels he never had much of a high school experience. So, he finds a school that will allow him to pose as a senior transfer student. It's really good, so far, but definitely for older teens. It's very real in a lot of ways and just brilliant to read!

An awesome book about one person's view of what they think Heaven will be like. At the same time it tells the story of a man and the interesting things that happened during his life. I definitely recommend it!

Hannah
Depection Point by Dan Brown
Rating: 4 Stars
I just finished reading DECEPTION POINT by Dan Brown. It's not one of his more popular books (THE DA VINCI CODE, ANGELS AND DEMONS) but it's definitely a favorite of mine. The story includes political scandal, a look into politics, and the possibility of life on another planet.

An astounding book right to the last page. I'd defnitely recommend it!

Bailey
The Taker by J. M. Steele
Rating: 4 Stars
This book is very well written. Even though it IS all about that teen angst stuff, there's a little twist on it. You'll have to read it to find out. (The cover is also really cool.)

Marissa V.
M or F by Lisa Papademetriou and Chris Tebbetts
Rating: 5 Stars
This is a great book on how you may think something, but it may not be true. It is about who knows what, and is the true tale of friendship.

k_knitster20
Enna Burning by Shannon Hale
Rating: 4 Stars
This is an awesome book! Enna is a very powerful character. Her mom just died, so she has to stay in the forest to take care of her brother, but she longs for the city life. Her brother starts acting strange, and finds a mysterious piece of vellum --- and won't let Enna look at it. She finds out the vellum can help you start fires, without flint or anything. It can possess you, so Enna has to find a way to save herself, her brother, and the forest itself before they all (literally) go up in flames. Awesome companion book to THE GOOSE GIRL!

MyChemFan27
Gender Bender by Blake Nelson
Rating: 4 Stars
GENDER BLENDER is a great book about how guys and girls don't understand each other. Like FREAKY FRIDAY, the characters in the book, Emma and Tom, switch bodies and have to learn to live in the other's shoes. GENDER BENDER is a great book that both guys and girls can relate to.

Drama High: Jayd's Legacy by L. Divine
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is one of the best I've read so far this entire year. It deserves to be in every junior high and high school library across the world. Jayd, the main character, is like me in many ways! When I started reading her series, I felt like I was meant to read it because she was also enduring the many things that I was going through. Everyone keep telling me, "Girl, do you ever put that book down?" How could I? It keep me thinking what would happen next. I remember the nights when everyone was asleep and the lights were off and i would put the book in the light, which the moon provided into my window, and read it. I recommend all teenage girls around the world to read not only this one, but the whole series! This book is very inspirational, motivating, and compelling.

Ally

Wonderful adult historical fiction novel in diary and letter form. Toast by Nigel Slater
Rating: 4 Stars
This book is really great for anyone interested in cooking, or food in general. Each chapter is only about a page, and it's a quick read. I'm about half way through as of now, but i'm speeding through it. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone under 17, as there are lots of sexual references and other things in it that wouldn't be appropriate for a younger age. I am really enjoying the book as a whole, though. It makes you realize that it's doesn't matter how horrible your mom's cooking is, you still eat it, because it tastes like home. I would give it 5 stars, but I haven't finished yet, and i'm not sure how the ending is going to turn out!

Andie Z.
Ironside by Holly Black
Rating: 5 Stars
This is the direct sequel to TITHE, and it definitely lives up to the hype. There are sword fights and betrayals, curses and murders, romance, and characters from VALIANT. It made me laugh, cry, scream, pound my pillow, clap my hands... but then, I'm a very emotional person. I loved IRONSIDE and I'm really sad that it's the last book set in the world of Faerie.

Rating: 5 Stars
Simply amazing!! It tells the story of a girl and her relationship with her mother. Madison, the girl, is an amazing figure skater and her mother, Annie, is her coach. It all about them and their struggles together. It is one of the best books I have read all year, and definitely the one that made me cry the hardest. It was literally midnight when my dad came in and found me bawling with an entire box of used tissues all around me. I highly recommend it for mothers and daughters, and everyone, for that matter. You will love it.

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
Rating: 5 Stars
This book shows you the devastating effects of losing a loved one, and also puts a twist on the afterlife. Susie Salmon (like the fish) was murdered near her home one day in an underground hideout. She was killed by a fellow neighbor and a friend of the family. After her death, her whole family falls apart and find their true selves. Her mom goes to California to follow the dreams she had before kids. Her father stays behind with with her little brother, and they become closer. Her sister falls in love with a kid of many races and stays with him. All this happens right in front of her eyes as she watches from heaven.

Just as great as the first book, TWILIGHT. You will fall in love with Bella and Edward all over again, not to mention Jacob, Bella's new best friend. I can't wait to read the next book.
