Rating: 5 Stars
Great book.

Octavia
Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult
Rating: 4 Stars
This was a really good book, though it did get a bit predictable torwards the end. it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. If you liked MY SISTER'S KEEPER, you'll like this.

Octavia
The Bookseller of Kabul by Asne Seierstad
Rating: 5 Stars
I had to read this book for school, and I wasn't sure if it would interest me, but it did and I really liked it.

THE BOOKSELLER OF KABUL is mostly about how women live and are treated in Afghanistan, along with how the men are treated. This book is also nonfiction, which makes it really sad, especially the ending.

5 stars!

Fantasy Finatic
The Seeker by Margaret Buffie
Rating: 4 Stars
The Watcher's Quest Trilogy is a fresh and hair-raising set. In THE SEEKER, Tom and Emma are beginning to learn the boundries of their realationship. Emma wants to know if she can really trust him. In this sequel to THE WATCHER, Margaret Buffie really has grasped the defintion of a fiction novel.

Afia
TTYL by Lauren Myracle
Rating: 4 Stars
This book is mostly about three teenage girls talking about their lives. It sounds boring, but its not!! They talk about how cute some guys, and just about everything you and your friends talk about!! TTYL is so cool.

Adalie H
Blind Faith by Ellen Wittlinger
Rating: 5 Stars
I really liked this book. It made me feel sad at times, and then some parts were funny to me. I don't really cry reading books, but I stil thought it was good.

Kalyn
King of the Mild Frontier by Chris Crutcher
Rating: 5 Stars
This is a wonderful autobiography, following the lfe of an author as a kid who did what he wanted and later in life tried to understand why. In discovering his past, he comes to know himself better than before, giving present teens hope that all those crazy things thery're going through now will make sense later! I highly suggest this wonderful coming-of-age story to anyone who feels like they don't belong or wished they didn't.

Shante
Candyfloss by Jacqueline Wilson
Rating: 4 Stars
I think that this book is really good, but I also think that it's a bit too young for me. Nowadays, I want to read books that are a bit more advanced, and this book doesn't live up to my expectations.

Breannna
Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
The best book I have ever read. My english teacher also loves it so much! TWILIGHT is the best love story right beside Romeo and Juliet.

Laura the bookworm
Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen
Rating: 4 Stars
Seriously funny. It's not your typical love story, stuffed with chickens and nosy grandparents, which just makes everything... pretty flipped.

Mona
Shapeshifter's Quest by Dena Landon
Rating: 5 Stars
Hands down, this is a great read for teens. It has a bit of everything --- romance, adventure, magic and more! I give a big hand to the author, since this is her first book. Trust me, it won't let you down.

Mona
Jade Green: A Ghost Story by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
Rating: 5 Stars
I loved this book! It keeps you gripped to the pages and on the edge of your seat. It's not too scary and not for a chicken! Great, great book!

Noelle
Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
Rating: 5 Stars
The first of three amazing novels. Even if you don't care for science fiction books (like I don't), you will still love this one. Don't let the summer pass you by before you get a chance to read UGLIES.

Laura the bookworm
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
Rating: 4 Stars
Caution: this book is not for the faint at heart. It's an amazing thrilling story about a girl's slaughter, told by her. The unravelling of her murder is gripping and intense. You cannot put this book down, except to take a deep breath and realize "It's ok! It's just a book, you can calm down!"

Laura the bookworm
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
Rating: 4 Stars
THE GLASS CASTLE is a shocking story about a woman who saves her own life. I can't believe this one is an autobiography. I will certainly suggest this to anyone who wants a hearwarming story.

Caroline
Listening for Lions by Gloria Whelan
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is a must read! You learn a little bit about Africa's culture while you read a great story. My eyes were glued to the pages throughout the whole book!

Caroline
A Girl Named Disaster by Nancy Farmer
Rating: 4 Stars
This was a well-written book, but I thought there was too much description even though you felt like you were on the adventure with Nhamo.

Caroline
Sand Dollar Summer by Kimberly K. Jones
Rating: 5 Stars
This is a well-written book! I was very happy I picked it up at the bookstore. It was amazing.

Caroline

Rating: 4 Stars
Very well written and very suspenseful.

Andy
Pay the Piper by Jane Yolen
Rating: 5 Stars
The pied piper story told rock-and-roll style with some fairytale magic mixed in. It's definitely one of the best books you'll ever read !!!

Andy
Wuthering High by Cara Lockwood
Rating: 5 Stars
The book is about a girl named Miranda whose insensitive moron of a father sends her to Bard Academy, a school for delinquints. The students seem to be living out scenes from classic books like JANE EYRE, WUTHERING HEIGHTS, and even DRACULA. I like this book because it's so funny. The story is told by Miranda and she'll make you burst out laughing on almost every page. There's even a shocking twist about her! Cara Lockwood really did an amazing job with this book!!!

Andy
The Crying Rocks by Janet Taylor Lisle
Rating: 5 Stars
Sad and uplifting, it will make you laugh and tear up. It's about a young orphan girl, her foster family, her real family, and her heritage --- three things that are more connected than she thinks. I also love the surprising twist in the end when the whole story is finally told. It's something you'll look forward to when you read it.

Kara :)
Chinese Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah
Rating: 4 Stars
If you liked A CHILD CALLED IT by David Pelzer, you'll love this book! It's a similar story: a child is abused by a parent for some off-the-wall reason, while other kids are treated like kings and queens. Yet, the child prevails andshows them all! Good read.

Meghan
Scorpia by Anthony Horowitz
Rating: 5 Stars
This is the BEST book in the Alex Rider series! There are a lot of twists and surprises. The end of this book also leaves you in suspense. I highly recommend it.

Kara :)
How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is awesome! I read it in about 4 hours because I could not put it down. It's about a girl surviving in a war. The children become isolated and live with no rules. This book has love, action, and history. The characters feel so real. This is highly recommended for mature readers.

Lauren
Under The Jolly Roger by L. A. Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
UNDER THE JOLLY ROGER, BEING AN ACCOUNT OF THE FURTHER NAUTICAL ADVENTURES OF JACKY FABER is the third book in the Bloody Jack series, and it's really easy to get lost in. It's totally funny, and has enough plot twists to keep you interested. The main character is a likeable and surprisingly realisitic heroine. It's a brilliantly good read!

Sarah
Changing Jareth by Elizabeth Wennick
Rating: 5 Stars
It is probally one of the best books I've ever read, and I read a lot. CHANGING JARETH had everything you can ask for in a book: a good plot line, a little romance, heartbreak, tragedy, etc.

Kara :)
Private by Kate Brian
Rating: 5 Stars
I LOVE this book! A girl goes to a boarding school, starts out as an outsider, but becomes one of the elite Billings Girls. She gains instant popularity by doing crazy stunts for them, and the hottest guy falls for her. This book deals with first loves, popularity, acceptance, secrets, friends, and school. All in all, a great roundabout book. Highly recommended. One of my favorite books!

Missa
Circle the Soul Softly by Davida Wills Hurwin
Rating: 5 Stars
This book first started out like just another chick-lit novel. As I got further into it, I realized I had judged it way too soon; it had deeper meaning. Everything about Katie's life is writen so well, making me feel like I really knew her. I read CIRCLE THE SOUL SOFTLY all the way through without stopping, and would recommend it to any girl looking for a more meaningful summer read.

Sammy
Sk8er Boy by Mari Mancusi
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is great. It's about a popular, smart, rich girl who becomes friends with the new punk girl and falls in love with a skater from the other side of town. I would recommend it to anyone.

Andy
Left Behind by Tim Lahaye
Rating: 5 Stars
Actually, I would give this book a ten. It is a biblical look at the apocalypse, which is scary, yet educational. Even for someone who is not religous, the rapture, tribulation, and the second coming will fascinate you and make you run to the bookstore for more of the series. It also contains great characters and shows you in depth their feelings toward what has happened. I also recommend that after reading the book, you tell friends and family about it; and I don't want to sound like i'm advertising religion, but you should also read The Book of Revelations, which is where the whole story is. All in all, this is one super, awesome, mega-fantastic, and cool read!

Kennie
Frogs & French Kisses by Sarah Mlynowski
Rating: 5 Stars
Very good! It's better than the first one!

Charlene
Summers At Castle Auburn by Sharon Shinn
Rating: 5 Stars
This book has it all: suspense, intrigue, romance, adventure, hilarious characters, and it takes place during the Middle Ages; what more can you ask for? It keeps you on your toes until the very last page and the heroine is just so much like girls today. With its plotline and interesting twists, how can you put it down? I certainly couldn't.

Andy
The Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud
Rating: 5 Stars
This is the first book in The Bartimaeus Trilogy. It has a 21st-century plot with a Medieval magic style that gives you a real shock to find out they have computers. But, it is one good book that will keep you up all night.

Andy
Summerland by Micheal Chabon
Rating: 5 Stars
I haven't finished this book yet, but so far, it's great! It's perfect for lovers of fantasy, adventure, and baseball!!

Whitney
The Sitter by R.L Stine
Rating: 5 Stars
This is one of his greatest books ever written, in my opinion! If you like suspense, this is a great book to read, and this is geared toward an older audience, unlike his other books for younger-aged readers (which are still awesome, I may add!)

Lulu
Among The Enemy by Margaret Peterson Haddix
Rating: 5 Stars
I think everyone should read this book!!!

Rating: 4 Stars
Nicholas Sparks is one of my favorite authors, and this book is definitely one of his best!

The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella
Rating: 4 Stars
This book is one of my favorites!

Sophia
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was awsome!

Andy
Sabriel by Garth Nix
Rating: 4 Stars
SABRIEL is the first in a new trilogy. Garth has made new type of fantasy world that mixes the Medieval world of The Lord of the Rings with the 21st-century magic world of Harry Potter. It's a definite page turner, but I gave it only 4 stars because the beginning is a little boring and while reading, you'll find yourself wondering things --- like what exactly a charter-mage is --- and not finding an explanation. But, it's still a great book.

Andy
The King in the Window by Adam Gopnik
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is great. At first, you might think it's more like juvenile fiction, but the mystery, the clues, the references to books and quotes and real history, all mixed in with the majesty of Paris make for one super awesome and great read!

Emz
Dragon Keeper by Carole Wilkinson
Rating: 5 Stars
This book takes place in Ancient China, during the Han Dynasty. A slave girl saves the life of an aging Dragon and escapes her brutal master. Pursued by a ruthless dragon hunter, the girl and the dragon make an epic journey across China carrying a mysterious stone that must be protected. This is the story of a young slave girl who believes she is not worthy of a name, but finds within herself the strength and courage to make this perilous journey --- and do what must be done.

Fiona
Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale by Holly Black

A fast-paced, action-packed fantasy mixed with realism. Vivdly depicted characters and a swiftly moving plot make it one of my favorite novels. Highly recommended.

~Chica!~

Rating: 4 Stars
This book is for more mature readers. It's a great read, but is much different from the movie. I enjoyed it better than the movie!

~Chica!~
Icy Sparks by Gwen Hyman Rubio
Rating: 5 Stars
An amazing book about a 10-year-old girl with a problem that no one understands. No doctor, teacher, or grandparent can explain. It's slightly slow in parts, but enjoyable all the same. Is is part of Oprah's Book Club!

~Chica!~

Great book that will make you cry and laugh. It's perfect for discussions on the topic of abortion and the mentally challenged.

Rating: 5 Stars
This sequel to TIL DEATH DO US PART really focuses on what getting over the death of someone really means. Bring your kleenex, this is another tearjerker.

~Chica!~
Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks
Rating: 3 Stars
This was a little slow at times, but after you get through the slow parts, it is quite enjoyable. It takes you back to the time of the plague in England and how courageous a village can be when working together for the common good of everyone. The book went extremely in depth about what the plague was.

~Chica!~
Crossing the Wire by Will Hobbs
Rating: 5 Stars
An excellent book about the need for Mexicans working in the United States. It explains in detail why Mexicans need to come to the U.S. to work and what they will do in order to work here. This is an extremely political book that is a good informational read!

Abigail
TTFN by Lauren Myracle
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was hilariously funny and painfully sad. It questions the boundries of a long-term friendship that is being ripped apart in one brutal sweep.

~Chica!~
Til Death Do Us Part by Lurlene McDaniel
Rating: 5 Stars
Another excellent book by Lurlene McDaniel!

Brooke

Rating: 5 Stars
In this sequel to A GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY, Gemma must find a way to bind the magic of the two realms and defeat Circe. But, she has to face many challenges, and she must make hard decisions that will change her life forever.

Brooke
A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
Rating: 5 Stars
I loved this book so much! It's set in England during the 18th century and follows the life of Gemma Doyle --- a girl who finds she has a strange magic in her, and must use it to unlock the secrets her mother kept when she died.

Lainie
Fly on the wall by E. Lockheart
Rating: 4 Stars
This was a very fun read. It was very ... educational.

It's about a girl who wishes she could be a fly on the wall of the boys' locker room. Surprise! --- like magic, her wish comes true. It's by the same author as THE BOYFRIEND LIST.

Mireya
Private by Kate Brian and Julian Peploe
Rating: 5 Stars
I thought this book was FANTASTIC! It's authored by one of my new favorite authors, Kate Brian. The novel is about a girl named Reed Brennan and her new life at Easton Academy. Here, she meets the Billings Girls --- the hippest, hottest girls on campus. As she adjusts to life in Easton, she strives to be accepted into the inner circle of the Billings girls. This book is perfect for teenage girls. I would definitely put this on my summer reading list. It's the perfect summer read!

Laura
Don't Die Dragonfly by Linda Joy Singleton
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is great if you love magic and mystery. It is a part of The Seer series. It is funny to listen to Sabine, the main character, argue with her spiritual guide, Opal. She helps friends that are in need by using her powers, and she meets others that have powers too, to help her. I really enjoy the whole series and I hope the author comes out with more. I also hope you enjoy this book too.

Tenley
Crooked Little Heart by Anne Lamott
Rating: 5 Stars
CROOKED LITTLE HEART deals with so many issues, while centered around a well-known topic of sports --- more specifically junior tennis. It's such a relief to find something smart and enjoyable.

Reader
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain
Rating: 5 Stars
It's hard to find a classic that's a light-hearted easy read, but this timeless book is just that. Filled with adventure and humor on every page, this book will draw you in with its charm and simplicity, reminding us of our childhood.

Laura
Inexcusable by Chris Lynch
Rating: 2 Stars
This book is supposed to be about a guy who does something that's inexcusable and how he reacts to it. I'm on page 50 and so far, all this main character has done is ramble on about his "football" scholarship. And when I say ramble, I mean ramble. It's like the sentences never end! I hope it gets better... after all, this book won an award!!!

Laura
Ravenous by Eve Eliot
Rating: 5 Stars
This is the book coming directly after INSATIABLE. It deals with the same characters as they continue on with their struggles with food and control. In this book, there are more male characters. This makes the story very interesting because you are then able to see what boys are thinking when it comes to body image; apparently, there is such a thing as being "too thin."

Laura
Insatiable by Eve Eliot
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is really good if you're interested in problems such as eating disorders or have been involved in this type of situation yourself or with a friend. It really brings you into the world where food is definitely not your friend. I enjoyed this book...it made me feel like I wasn't the only one out there feeling these things. It was truly written from the heart and really connects with its readers.

Cuba 15 by Nancy Osa
Rating: 5 Stars
What can I say besides what a great book this is. CUBA 15 is one of the greatest books I've ever read. Its very interesting, and is one of those impossible to-put-down books!! Its a multi-cultural novel that gives you a chance to learn different types of cultures. I would highly recommend this to teenage girls, even though it can be read by any one 12+ up. Again, I have say this is a great book!!!

Kristen
Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment by James Patterson
Rating: 5 Stars
THE ANGEL EXPERIMENT is an amazing book. With a group of children on the... fly, they step into the world, begin a mission to save it, and take care of each other. This book held me word for word, leading me to another place and time. I wasn't surprised that MAXIMUM RIDE: SCHOOL'S OUT -- FOREVER was my next read.

THE ANGEL EXPERIMENT is the best book I have ever set hands on.

Mirela
Go Ask Alice by Anonymous
Rating: 5 Stars
GO ASK ALICE is a heartbreaking and frightening novel about the horrors of life as a teenage drug-addict. The book is completely based on the actual diary of a 15-year-old girl who gets hooked on drugs at a party, and her whole life comes crashing down on her. It should be read by all teenagers because it really opens your eyes about the horrors and dangers of drugs and the consequences they bring. However, it may not be appropriate for readers under the age of 14.

...
Falcondance by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes
Rating: 4 Stars
Nicias offers both an outsider's and insider's perspective of the Wyvern Court, which was developed in the first two books in this series. It would have been nice if the ending would have been more satisfying, though.

Giavonna
Grace From China by Jacqueline A. Kolosov
Rating: 5 Stars
I loved this book! It is about a mother and her daughter who go to China to adopt a baby girl! GRACE FROM CHINA tells the whole story of the adoption process; it has every detail you could ask for. Gloria
The Purple Emperor by Herbie Brennan
Rating: 5 Stars
This novel is awesome!! For those who have read the first book, FAERIE WARS, you have to read the sequel. If you haven't read any of them, you should start now. This book is for those who are interested in fantasy/action/adventure novels.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is a bone-chilling, heart-capturing, mind-swirling dream. Stephenie has created a world entirely her own and she has shared it with the world. This romance is beautiful and heart throbbing. TWILIGHT was full of so many twists and turns that I kept turning the pages until I finished. It is so complicated, simple, spine chilling, and remarkably and innocently wonderful. This has made its way to the top of my best book list. Personally, I love to read, and its pretty dang hard to reach the top, especially after only reading the book once. I continue to read this book. All I have to do is open to a random page, start reading, and I become entangled in the wonderful world that is Isabella Swan's all over again. I treasure the mind that wrote TILIGHT, and I treasure the remarkable world that has made its way to the 512 pages that are bound and sealed in its pages.

Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment by James Patterson

Bosco
Nano by John Robert Marlow
Rating: 4 Stars
This is a very interesting book about the discovery of feasible nanotechnology and all the implications of it. Although it seems a bit unrealistic with our current techological knowledge, the novel presents very strong ideas and concepts about the nanotechonology, its benefits, and all the consequences that may ensue if it is abused by greedy or selfish people.

Peyton
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
Rating: 4 Stars
This book is, at times, difficult to read because of the dialects the author writes in. Though I haven't finished it, it's rather interesting to see how Huck gets himself out of trouble during his little adventures.

This book was fantastic. It retells a folktale, but with more depth and detail, as well as intriguing characters. It is the second book in the The Sevenwaters Trilogy. You need not read the first book to understand SON OF THE SHADOWS, but I recommend it. It is also a very good book.

The Purple Emperor by Herbie Brennan
Rating: 5 Stars
Wow, this is the second book in the Faerie Wars series and it was just fabulous! The characters and plot are well written, fun, fast, and enjoyable. The twist in THE PURPLE EMPEROR is mind blowing and it keeps me waiting eagerly for the third book. The realm of the Faerie world is amazing and always full of some kind of excitement.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 3 Stars
TWILIGHT is the beautiful tale of a human and a vampire who fall in love. Bella, the human, is a junior in high school and lives in the rainiest place in the United States: Forks, Washington. She hates being there at first, but soon meets the mysterious Edward Cullen, a vampire who wants to --- but simply cannot --- stay away from her. The danger of their relationship looms over them, making the story even more exciting.

TWILIGHT is the first in a series of books about these two characters. The second book, NEW MOON, will be out in August, and the third, ECLIPSE, should be out next year. But Stephenie Meyer, the author, doesn't plan on stopping there.

C Turtle
Christy Miller Series by Robin Jones Gunn
Rating: 5 Stars
Christy is almost 15 when she spends the summer with her aunt and uncle at their home in Newport Beach, CA. While there, she meets new friends and learns a lot more about life. I absolutely loved these books and had all my freinds read them. It's very realistic about modern life and how it should be handled. I would even say that these are probably the best books I've ever read.

Brittany
Dragon's Blood by Jane Yolen
Rating: 4 Stars
A great series of books --- I read them several times when I was younger, and now I've found them again and I still love them!

Also, the Kiesha'ra books, starting with HAWKSONG, by Amelia Atwater Rhodes. She is a phenomenal writer, not to mention just how young she is!

Genna
Sweep: Book Of Shadows by Cate Tiernan
Rating: 5 Stars
This is about a girl named Morgan and her grip on the new found religion called Wicca. She begins to blossom in the circles that are held by an assortment of teens from her high school, including the new senior named Cal who introduced the circle mates to the art of witchcraft.

I loved the book series with its drama and weirdness. But WARNING --- there are about 15 books in the series so don't start reading unless you are prepared for long sleepless nights reading to figure out what is next.

This is one of the best vampire books I have ever read. It has a great story line and romantic descripions. The only thing bad about it is the fact that it is not very long.

The King of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner

This book is suspensful, cool, and has twists that will keep you guessing. I recommend it to people/teens who like action/adventure fantasies. It will be the best book you read all summer:) I promise.

Boys That Bite by Mari Mancusi
Rating: 5 Stars
This is an amazing book! It's about a girl named Sunny and how she accidently gets turned into a vampire by the gorgeous Magnus. They go on a quest for the Holy Grail to restore Sunny's humanity. Even though this is the 5th time I've read this book, it still sucks me into its world and it's very hard to put down!!

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

An amazing story of a girl living in Nazi Germany that shows how she grows up during a dangerous time period and manages to make friends and learn about the power of words. It illustrates fascinating parts of history, and a very unique narrator. I recommend this to all teens!!

Scott Westerfield created a book with suspense, romance, and betrayal. UGLIES shows societies' high standards of beauty and how it is praised.

This book is a true page turner and a good summer read.

At Home in Mitford by Jan Karon

This book is by one of my favorite Christian authors. It is about a pastor's small-town life and it is a lot funnier than I expected it to be.

Ashley
Queen of Babble by Meg Cabot
Rating: 4 Stars
It is good, so far, but a little bit more mature than past books I have read by Meg Cabot.

E--
Boy Proof by Cecil Castellucci
Rating: 4 Stars
It was a very good book about a girl who wants to be called Egg. She says she is alone, even though she is surrounded by people. This book is about her finding out what being alone really is, and finding out who she is.

Vote for Larry by Janet Tashijian
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was very interesting. I think that if everyone read THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LARRY, you would understand this book.

Daughter of Venice by Donna Jo Napoli
Rating: 4 Stars
This book was very interesting. I like the way it doesn't exactly end happily ever after. Sometimes those kinds of books don't seem very realistic, even if they are supposed to be fiction. Donna Jo Napoli takes you back to Venice during the time when daughters had to marry according to their parents' wishes. Rich Venetian families like Donata's were allowed to permit only one daughter (which was usually the eldest) to marry. However, Donata was fortunate --- she, along with her twin sister, Laura were the second eldest girls, which gave one of the twins hope to marry. Like I said, this story was very interesting and to me it seemed like this kind of story could've actually happened.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Breath by Donna Jo Napoli
Rating: 4 Stars
This book brought on a different perspective of the Piper story. The injured boy (he suffers from Cistic Fibrosis) is worried for his village, family, coven, and himself. The lifestock is cursed and everyone seems to be falling ill after a plentiful grain harvest. He must find out before the village people start blaming their coven healer... his own grandmother.

Amelia
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
Rating: 4 Stars
I thought that anything written in an older style of English was going to be hard to understand and read. However, this book presented the romantic troubles of two sisters after their father dies. What would you do if your beloved suddenly left you or you find out a secret about your beau?

Lidell
Ithaka by Adele Geras
Rating: 3 Stars
Expecting the same thrilling treatment as I received in TROY, ITHAKA was a bit of a disappointment. But the same talented author is giving voice to an age-old legend again, and the worries of a teenage girl --- our heroine, Klymene --- bring it to life. The plot is mostly a fretful wait, yet brutish suitors, fickle gods, and obstacles in faith never leave a moment quiet.

Alli
Voyager by Diana Gabaldon
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is really good. It is third in the series by Diana Gabaldon featuring Claire and Jamie. It is so good. In VOYAGER, Claire goes back through the stones after finding out that Jamie is still alive, then they have to rediscover each other, seeing as they've been apart for 20 years. It's amazing.

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen
Rating: 5 Stars
THE TRUTH ABOUT FOREVER is an amazing book. I honestly think any teenage girl, and even adults, would fall in love with the characters. The book is about a girl named Macy, who is suffering the loss of her father. Macy thinks she needs to be strong for her mom and older sister; she tries to act perfectly, but truth be told --- she is lonely on the inside. Macy finally become friends with the Wish catering crew and learns what life is really about.

The Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling
Rating: 5 Stars
Of course, I think everyone knows how good these books are. I am reading them for the second time. There is a lot I have forgotten, or missed the 1st time, and now I notice some forshadowing. I would suggest reading them again, if not now, sometime before the 7th book comes out, which I can't wait for...

Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom
Rating: 5 Stars
This was a book I had to read for my school's Summer Reading list. I'm very glad they suggested it to me. Mitch Albom wrote it in honor and memory of his old college professor, Morrie (a.k.a. Coach). It's a touching novel that deals with the real, harsh reality of death and the will of one man to make the best of it. Incredible book.

Holly
Crunch Time by Mariah Fredericks
Rating: 4 Stars
Being a teenager in high school is stressful enough, but when the SATs are put into the equation, everything falls apart. In Mariah Fredericks’s novel, CRUNCH TIME, four teenagers must decide their own fate for the future as the test day comes up fast. However, ironically, the SATs bring them together; but when news comes out that there was a cheater, fingers are pointed, and friendship is tested. Who are you going to believe?

Fredericks crafts each character perfectly. She creates their personality to fit with the state of mind many teenagers can relate to. Teen Problems and woes often go unseen, but Fredericks goes deep under the façade to reveal the undeniable truth of life.

From the stress of school, to the stress of love, and the stress of life, this book explores it all. I give it a rating of four stars.

I usually don't read books about golf, but this is way more! It has history, biographies, and quick facts that I would never have known! It also made into a movie, but the book is way better!

Divine Madness by Robert Muchamore and Tom Tafuri
Rating: 5 Stars
This is an amazing book. It's the fifth book in The Cherub series, and in my opinion, the best! It's all about children who get trained to be child spies and put terrorists and other criminals behind bars. It's a top secret organisation and you will absolutely wish it were true. Maybe it is, you never know!

Olivia

This book is written in a letter from a 16-year-old girl to her 34-year-old teacher, whom she had an affair with. It is definitely not for immature readers, but it is an awesome book.

Cast Two Shadows by Ann Rinaldi
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was and excellent historical novel set in the Revolutionary War. Unlike most Revolutionary War books, it's about what's happening in the Southern part of the US during the war. A young girl and her family is caught up in the mess of the war, and as the plot takes its twists and turns, you are drawn into the story more and more. A great adventure/historical novel by a wonderful author.

But, this isn't just any school --- its a school for spies. Now what happens when Cammie falls for a regular guy who can never know the truth about her? You'll have to read this book to find out.
