The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen
Rating: 5 Stars
This is my first Sarah Dessen book and it is amazing! It's about a girl finding out that being perfect is pretty boring. Also, she's finds some romance along the way. At the end, she learns what forever really means. It's a warm, touching book.

Dee
Ready or Not by Meg Cabot
Rating: 4 Stars
This is a sequel to one of my favorite books, ALL-AMERICAN GIRL. It's about Sam dealing with the different situations that approach her. Basically, it picks up where the last one left off. Awesome book!

Lisa
Cut by Patricia McCormick
Rating: 5 Stars
Read this book! If you only read one more book in your life, make it this one. 15-year-old Callie cuts herself, and now she's at Sea Pines Residential Home in therapy. For me, personally, I thought a lot of my own mental state after reading it. It's very deep and really helps you understand the psychological mind frame of cutters, and why many people like Callie cut themselves.

Lisa

AWESOME!! Thyme Gilcrest, a straight-A student, deals prescription drugs to fellow classmates. It really takes you into the world and the reality of drugs with high schoolers. Please do read.

Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is awesome! It's about a girl who gets raped at a party and calls the cops. Now everyone at her highschool hates her, but no one knows about the rape, so she's struggling to deal with this and find friends. It is so good, I recommend it to everyone to read.

Chelsea

Rating: 4 Stars
I just started it, but so far it is pretty exciting!

Kate
A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
Rating: 5 Stars
I love A GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY and its sequel, REBEL ANGELS. It's about a girl who suddenly has powers and takes her 4 best friends at her girls' only private school, to the world between life and death. With the help of a guy who was sent to protect her, she can close up the 2nd world that an evil woman wants to control. You can't put the book down, and I recommended and lent it to all my friends, who loved it, and I didn't get it back until a year later.

Chelsea
The History of Love by Nicole Krauss

Honestly, this was one of the best books I've ever read. It has to deal with secret connections, and how people you don't even know can change your life.

Jessica Truax
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was kind of a sappy love story, but with the added vampires and spark between Bella and Edward, it's a book everyone should read.

Megan
Drowning Anna by Sue Mayfield
Rating: 4 Stars
This book showed the honest truth about peer pressure and the hurt that being a teenager can bring. I liked it.

Beth
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
By far, the best book to read if you're into vampires and romances! I love how you can't understand his reasons, at first, but you love him; he's too perfect. He has a beautiful romance with a girl named Bella. I've never found another book as good as this one, honestly.

Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

An amazing novel by a very successful author, Scott Westerfeld. Although his other young adult novels are all captivating and enthralling, UGLIES beats all. Also read PRETTIES and SPECIALS.

In the new book THE WITCH'S REVENGE by David Anthony, There’s trouble in Oz!

The Wicked Witch of the West is back and in possession of Dorothy’s Magic Shoes. She is now more powerful than she's ever been before, and with an army of flying monkeys and enslaved Winkies, she marches south to attack Trisha, the Good Witch of the South, whom she had once feared, but now is out for revenge. If she is successful, the Good Witch of the North will be next, and then all the good in Oz will be lost forever. The Land of Oz is a battleground, and all the good countries have joined together with the Tin Woodman and Lion to try and stop the Wicked Witch, who seems to have no weaknesses. When all seems hopeless, it’s the Scarecrow who realizes he holds the Wicked Witch of the West’s one weakness in the palm of his hand.

THE WITCH'S REVENGE by David Anthony is the second in a three-book Oz trilogy that continues the story of the movie, The Wizard of Oz.

Inkheart by Corneila Funke
Rating: 5 Stars
It's one of the greatest books I've ever read. I can't wait to read the sequel, INKSPELL. INKHEART is becoming a movie as well. I loved all the characters and just the being of the story. It was very good!

Nicole
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
This is a remarkable first book by young adult author Stephenie Meyer. Edward Cullen is a both dazzling and breathtaking character, whose charm and mesmerizing personality is felt by the reader. I did not want to put this book down once I started reading it, and I am looking forward to reading her next book, NEW MOON.

Sam
The Girl from Playa Blanca by Ofelia Dumas Lachtman
Rating: 4 Stars
This is truly a good mystery that keeps those pages turning! It's a nice story of a girl and her brother who come to America in search of their father because they have not heard from him recently. Upon their arrival, she can't find her father, so she turns to her last hope, a family friend who takes her in. Then the mystery begins! I strongly recommend this book!

Maddie
Rhymes with Witches by Lauren Myracle
Rating: 5 Stars
This book, written by the gal who wrote TTYL and TTFN, is so shweet (hehe) that I was kind of reading/glancing at it during class... I mean, I was paying attention and taking notes. It's kind of like Mean Girls meets Freaky Friday all jumbled up into one big ol' heap of fun. Read it!

Maddie
Inside the Mind of Gideon Rayburn by Sarah Miller
Rating: 5 Stars
I know it's not good to choose a book by its cover, but that's how I found this book and I am SO glad I did. This book, about a teen girl who can hear the thoughts of a male boarding school student, is so bizarre you'll find yourself reading until the wee hours in the morning! My friend saw it laying around, picked it up, and was hooked. I know this whole book sounds crazy, but seriously, it is unbelievably AWESOME... Do yourself a favor and READ IT.

His Dark Materials Trilogy by Philip Pullman
Rating: 5 Stars
These books are some of my all-time favorites... I recently finished the last book, and I know it will stay with me for a long time. This trilogy, consisting of THE GOLDEN COMPASS, THE SUBTLE KNIFE, and THE AMBER SPYGLASS, is some of the best youth literature that I have ever come across. These books really affected me, making me think deeply. I couldn't help crying at the end. Anyone who hasn't tried it out yet should deffinitely get to your nearest book store and buy it right now.

Vote for Larry by Janet Tashjian
Rating: 5 Stars
I read this book in a single night. All I can say is: fantastic! Read it and be amazed.

^_^ *Melissa* ^_^
The Awakening by Kate Chopin
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was not only captivating by the vocabulary that was used, it took readers into the mind of a woman that not only desired love from a man other than her husband, but it also acknowledged the desires of what women wanted during the year of 1890s. Adultery was unheard of until Kate Chopin described the dark side of women that was never duscussed at the time. I loved this book so much, and yet the story never gets old. Desire had played a great role in this novel, I would recommend that more people read it!!! ^_^

Ann
Darkhenge by Catherine Fisher
Rating: 4 Stars
The characters are alive in this book, the way all of Fisher's characters have been. You can easily see Rob's confusion, Chloe's unspoken anger, and Clare's conflicting feelings of love and hate for Vetch.

Mel
You, Maybe by Rachel Vail
Rating: 4 Stars
I sat down, planning to read about ten pages of YOU, MAYBE: THE PROFOUND ASSYMMETRY OF LOVE IN HIGH SCHOOL, and instead read to one-hundred and fifty! The main character, Josie's, independent attitude and her resistence to love make YOU, MAYBE an undescribable read.

Amelia
Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen
Rating: 4 Stars
I didn't expect much from this book, even though I knew the author was great. I thought it would be one of those "off" books authors have once in a while; however, I was wrong. This story wasn't conventional, but it had a deeper message and I really liked how it discussed the issue that even when you solve all of your flaws, you might not have self-confidence. It was a good read.

Betty
Just like That by Marsha Qualey
Rating: 4 Stars
It was a good book. She goes through a lot when she realizes she was the last person who talked to these teenagers who died. She meets a guy through this, but expect the unexpected. Read it, it's a pretty good book.

Betty
The Key to the Golden Firebird by Maureen Johnson

Mel
Vegan Virgin Valentine by Carolyn Mackler
Rating: 4 Stars
I love VEGAN VIRGIN VALENTINE so far! It's written in the hilarious voice of an overachiever who needs to cool down. If you liked THE EARTH, MY BUTT, AND OTHER BIG ROUND THINGS, you'll be sure to love this one!

Bobbi
Blonde Ambition by Zoey Dean
Rating: 5 Stars
This a great book with twists and turns in every chapter.

Rating: 4 Stars
I loved the innocent voice that this was written in. It was really fun following Charlie through trial and error as she tried to figure out her feelings for her best friend's boyfriend.

Monique
Dark Secrets: Don't Tell by Elizabeth Chandler
Rating: 5 Stars
This is the best book, and series, I have ever read. The books all have a suspenseful, mysterious tone to them that you will get lost in. It is written so well that you will be able to perfectly picture the setting in your head. In this book in particular, the main character, 17-year-old Lauren comes home seven years after her mother's mysterious drowning to live with her aunt and cousin for a while. One of her cousins, Nora, is silent and spooky, and speaks about Lauren's mother as if she is still alive. If that isn't enough, events start happening to Lauren that almost kill her, and she doesn't know who is doing it to her. The plot unravels, answering all of your questions at the very end. Get prepared for a gigantic surprise. This story will reel you in and keep you guessing until the very end.

Brieana
Kissing Doorknobs by Terry Spencer Hesser
Rating: 3 Stars
Tara has a bad case of OCD. She counts the cracks in the sidewalk, doesn't like odd numbers, and frantically prays for people when she hears them swear (sometimes without even knowing she's doing it). I haven't finished it yet, and I gave it three stars because I'm not as into it as I've been with other books.

Mel
Inside the Mind of Gideon Rayburn by Sarah Miller
Rating: 4 Stars
I loved this book! It was funny and true and really revealing. Although it was a little hard to get into, once I did, I couldn't put it down! It really is like being in the mind of a guy! I also loved the ending.

Kathy
The Earth, My Butt, And Other Big Round Things by Carolyn Mackler
Rating: 5 Stars
It's one of the best books I've ever read in my whole entire life! The book is amazing!

Brieana
Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause
Rating: 4 Stars
This book is awesome! I really feel for what Vivian's going through, and when things got bad I had to set it down for a while (and I don't do that, FYI). So read it. It's good.

Kaylen
The Secret of the Rose by Sarah L. Thomson
Rating: 5 Stars
This comes out in July. If you like historical fiction and/or the Shakespere Stealer Trilogy, you'll love this book that takes place in the early 1590s in the midst of anti-Catholic Elizabethian London. This is probably more of a girl's book. The main character is Rosalind... or Richard?

Danni D.
Ranma 1/2 by Rumiko Takahashi
Rating: 5 Stars
While I'm a newbie at this manga/graphic novel craze, I can say that I thoroughly enjoy this series. With the perfect mix of action, comedy, romance and downright silliness at times --- Shampoo anyone? --- this is definitely a read to pick up whether you're a comic buff or not.

Kaylen
Best Foot Forward by Joan Bauer
Rating: 5 Stars
This is the sequel to RULES OF THE ROAD and I thought it was the best of the two. It has more of the world of shoe sales and more of Jenna Boller's hectic life. This is definitely worth the read, and would make sense without reading the first book, but makes more if you read RULES OF THE ROAD first. It's a good read for girls and boys.

Katie P
The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
Rating: 5 Stars
This is an awesome book! It's great for all types of readers; it's short enough so you can just read it for fun or you can get a lot out of analyzing it as well. I'd have to say it's one of the best books I've read.

Kaylen
Bittersweet Sixteen by Carrie Karasyov and Jill Kargman
Rating: 5 Stars
This is an awesome book with snotty rich kids but a sweet and down-to-earth main character. This book hasn't come out yet, but is a nice read that keeps you turning pages. It's a little perdictable but has a fitting ending.

Safia
Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin
Rating: 4 Stars
Ever wonder where you go when you die? When Liz wakes up from her death (a biking hit-and-run accident) she is on a cruise ship headed to Elsewhere, a place where the weather is always nice and you can only get younger as the days pass. But Liz has not yet reached sixteen and doesn't want to get younger. Instead, she wants to attend her prom, celebrate her sweet sixteen, get her drivers license, graduate from high school, attend college, fall in love, find a career...

So Liz doesn't take kindly to this sudden change of fate and starts to spend most of her time in Elsewhere at the Observation Decks where she can look down at her family and friends on Earth.

Will Liz ever get used to Elsewhere? Or will she try to get back to Earth any way she can? Read to find out!

This was a very interesting and thought-provoking, and reads in some ways similar to THE LOVELY BONES.

Brieana
Rhymes with Witches by Lauren Myracle

It's about a girl named Jane who really wants to be a Bitch (that's a group of girls that everyone at school loves) but there's a price to pay for that.

Jocelyn
Boy Girl Boy by Ron Koertge
Rating: 4 Stars
This was an awesome book. It is very real, and the reader gets sucked in by the characters right away. You will feel for them, they'll be your new best friends, and that makes an awesome book! Read it!

Liz F.
The Dating Game by Natalie Standiford
Rating: 4 Stars
This book is a pretty good book for romance readers. It book doesn't have much depth, though (if it did I would give it a 5 stars). It's a very quick read. I finished it in less than 3 hours.

Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
Rating: 5 Stars
Oh my gosh, this book is one of the best books I have ever read. I finished this book in one night. It is very gripping and I absolutly love it. I recommend it to everyone who wants a thrilling story with a taste of adventure and love. There are three books in the series --- UGLIES, PRETTIES, AND SPECIALS. I read them all and I give the all a number 10 :)

Karoline
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle
Rating: 5 Stars
This is my favorite book ever. I have read it at least 4 times. It's great because it's not only is it a fantasy book, it also is a story of love and family. It is a little slow at first, is excellent in the end. I completely recommend this book and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Mates, Dates, and Inflatable Bras by Cathy Hopkins

MATES, DATES, AND INFLATABLE BRAS was a really great book. It was fun to read about quirky little Lucy who's small for her age and just doesn't think she fits anywhere. I highly recommend this book to any girl who needs a laugh!

Beth

Rating: 4 Stars
MATES, DATES, AND COSMIC KISSES is a really great book. This one, from Izzie's point of view, takes us through the life of the one and only Izzie Foster, Lucy Lovering's best friend. It's full of laughs!!

Beth
Mates, Dates, and Designer Divas by Cathy Hopkins
Rating: 3 Stars

This is a really good book. It's kind of scary if you think about it.

Anna
Dreamhunter by Elizabeth Knox
Rating: 5 Stars
I really couldn't put this book down! It's a little tedious in the beginning, but it definitely picks up by the end. Knox's intriguing ideas kept me reading all day yesterday and I can't wait for the second book in the trilogy!

Crystal
Remembrance by Theresa Breslin
Rating: 4 Stars
This is a really good book so far. I like it --- this fiction novel takes place during World War I, and is about romance and war.

Julia
The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer
Rating: 4 Stars
THE HOUSE OF THE SCORPION, by Nancy Farmer, is a very good book. If you have not read it yet, I suggest you should, if you dont, you're a sock! It is a good book, and if you're looking for something different, you should read it. Nancy makes it seem real, but it isn't, and I love it!

Kelly
13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson
Rating: 3 Stars
I read this book until 1 o'clock in the morning every night for a week. It was great, yet the end was a little disappointing. It was very exciting though (romantic too!). Definitely read 13 LITTLE BLUE ENVELOPES!

Hannah
Magic or Madness by Justine Larbalestier
Rating: 4 Stars
I really, really enjoyed reading this book. Not only is Justine a phenomenal writer, but she's also the wife of my favorite science fiction author; Scott Westerfeld. The book is about a girl named Reason Cansino who has lived her entire life running with her mother in the bush of Australia. They have never lived anywhere for more than four months because Reason's grandmother wants to capture her. She believes in magic and does terrible things and would do unimaginable things to Reason and her mother... or so her mother says. But when her mum has a mental breakdown and is hauled off to a mental hospital, Reason is placed in her grandma's custody. Who...really is evil, right? And...there really IS no such thing as magic, right?

Wonderful, wonderful book. The sequel, MAGIC LESSONS is already out, and I'm eagerly waiting for the third in the series.

Travel Team by Mike Lupica
Rating: 4 Stars
TRAVEL TEAM is a great book on how you can achieve something if you keep working at it. Danny, the main character, is short and wants to play basketball and is great, but he is denied a spot because of his hieght. He overcomes this hurdle and makes his own team. This book is like a version of the movie Little Giants except it's basketball, and not football.

The Year of Secret Assignments by Jaclyn Moriarty
Rating: 5 Stars
This is a really, really good book about three best friends (girls) who start writing to three boy pen pals in a supposedly "bad" school. They become best friends with them, except one of the pen pals turns out to be someone unexpected. It's a story about friendship and family, and it's funny. I would say every girl should read this book.

Courtney
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
This is the first book that I've actually sat down and read in about 7 years. Being 16 years old, you would rather go and hang out with your friends, play sports or be lazy and watch TV. When I heard about TWILIGHT from my friend, my first thoughts were "what is she doing with a book?... I guess it must be a pretty okay book." So, I went online later that day to order it, to see what all the fuss was about. A week later I recieved it, and that first night, I read up through page 232. My mom had to finally take it away from me so I could get to sleep because I had school the next morning. When I woke up the next day, I decided to take the book with me because I was wondering what was going to happen next. I read all 500+ pages within 3 days, which is amazing for me. It was outstanding. There are no words to describe how it kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering what was going to happen next. I was even reading it in class one day, and my teacher told me to put it away about 5 times. Finally, she came over to take it away from me and I slapped her hand (big mistake!). But it definitely is a must read.

Oh.. i guess I should tell what the story is about... TWILIGHT is about a teenage girl, Bella, who moves to a small raining town. Being new to a small town and small school, everyone's going to notice; and by the end of the day, everyone will know who are, and everyone would have already came up to you, to greet themselves. Well, ALMOST everyone. She realizes this one guy, Edward, is pretty much scared of her, or well, hates her and she can't figure out why. They sit together in Biology, and they slowy start talking and hanging out. What she finally figures out is that Edward is a vampire, thirsting for her blood ...and they fall in love.

I'm just going to leave it at that, since I don't want to give away too much. My advice is to just get the book and read it. It leaves you hanging, but a sequel comes out in September, called NEW MOON.

This book is about a girl who dies and goes to Elswhere, where she has many adventures, like finding new friends and meeting her grandmother for the first time. It is by far one of the best books I've ever read!

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

It's a good book. There is a lot of action, suspense, and mystery. It can get kind of slow, but it's still good.

Ashleigh
Avalon High by Meg Cabot
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is amazing! It is very suspenseful and has a great story plot. It made me fall in love with the characters, fear for them, cry for them, laugh for them, etc. It is really enjoyable, while also very full of information. It links directly to the Arthurian Legend. It's cool because that's what we're learning about in social studies this year.

Julie
Princess Sultana's Daughters by Jean P. Sasson
Rating: 5 Stars
This is a book that every girl should read. It's about a woman in Saudi Arabia and her struggles with her life, and the role of women in her country. The raw truth is so shocking, yet very inspiring to change the wrongs in our world.

Casey
Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan

This book was really great. It showed such acceptance and that is definitely something we need more of in this world, not to mention, it was very funny!

I like how not many authors take on the subject of gay teens like this... very unique! A must read!

Rating: 5 Stars
Ths book is amazing. It portrays the struggles of three teens with different eating disorders and the friendship that bonds them. This is one of the best and most moving books I read on the subject.

Vicky De Metz
The Clique by Lisi Harrison
Rating: 5 Stars
I like it.

Emily L.
To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee
Rating: 3 Stars
The book is very good, but it's not really my taste. It isn't the type of book that gets you hooked and can't put it down. It works chapter to chapter. I like how it addresses the serious issues of racism and uses analogies and symbolism to show its evils.

Jocelyn P.
Enthusiasm by Polly Shulman
Rating: 5 Stars
This book was fabulous, funny, and original. I loved the chracters in it. Julie --- the stable, practical one in her friendship with wild, impulsive Ashleigh --- got swept off her feet for once, and it was real, unlike some books that just seem so fake. A great book that everyone should read!

*Amber*
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Rating: 5 Stars
This book provided a real look at the Afghani world. It, in some sense, humanized the people of the Middle East, and distinguished the terrorists from the others who wanted to survive. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a bit more of a challenging read.

Dee
Sweet 16 by Kate Brian

Smack by Melvin Burgess
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is about teens who run away from home, become squatters, and turn into heroin addicts. It's a very very good book, and hard to put down once you start. The ending is happy, but sad also. I recommend it for anyone who can get into a book about drugs and teen life.

Stella
Surviving Amber by Charlotte Calder
Rating: 2 Stars
The story was heaps slow. The blurb made you want to find out what happened, but the climax was disapointing. Overall, it was a pretty boring book but it was good enough to finish.

Sarah
Rhymes with Witches by Lauren Myracle
Rating: 5 Stars
Normally, this is not the kind of book I would get into. It's about a group of "royalty" called the Bitches, who choose one girl from each class to be a part of them. Jane, a loser freshman, is chosen, but to be a Bitch, she has to want it really badly. This is an amazing book, and it's even quite scary at times. A very good read.

Izzy Tizzy fo Shizzy
Just Listen by Sarah Dessen
Rating: 5 Stars
It was really, really good! The girl in this book is dumped by her BFF and she develops her mind in a more profound way than ever before. She makes a friend named Owen, and he teaches her how to really listen.

Abbu
Nightjohn by Gary Paulsen
Rating: 5 Stars
I think the book is a good way to enjoy social studies. If anyone is interested in slavery, this is a great book to read. NIGHTJOHN is a slave who teaches Sarney, the narrator, how to read. When the master finds out, Nightjohn gets whipped. After some time, he decideds to escape and open a hidden school for slaves kids, and Sarney can continue learning. If you are still intrested, you might as well check out the second book, SARNY.

Connie

Paige
Sweet 16 by Kate Brian
Rating: 3 Stars
Altogether, this was a really good book. At first, it's slow and annoying because Tegan, the main character, talks mainly about all the 'stuff' she has. Towards the middle/end, it gets very gripping, and I couldn't put it down!!

Krystal
Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause
Rating: 4 Stars
I've only just started reading BLOOD AND CHOCOLATE, and so far it is amazing. I love how Vivian is so bold and confident. The author makes me want to change during the next full moon and run through the forest.

Jamie
Haunted by Meg Cabot
Rating: 5 Stars
Meg Cabot is an awesome author. I have almost all her books.

Brenna
Eragon by Christopher Paolini
Rating: 4 Stars
This book was kind of a twist of Lord of the Rings with Star Wars archetypes. It has excellent balance of plot and suspense to keep you reading. Great read! I only gave it four stars because I haven't read the perfect fiction novel yet, and don't know how it will compare. =)

Brenna
State of Fear by Michael Crichton
Rating: 3 Stars
It's really 3.5 stars. It got a little too gory and there was a bit too much crude language for me. I loved the mix of fact and fiction. The confusing bit was how the book jacket talked about a character in Tokyo, although I don't recall there ever being one. =)

Michelle
Desert Blood by Ronald Cree
Rating: 5 Stars
This is an awesome book. It is full of adventure, excitement, and entertainment. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys living on the edge a bit. It's FANTASTIC!!!!!

Tori
California Holiday by Kate Cann

Tori
Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell
Rating: 4 Stars
The complicated yet suprisingly great story of Scarlett O'Hara and her struggle to keep her family's plantation during and after the Civil War. Although this book is advanced and over 1,000 pages long, it is still a must-read.

Tori
Night by Elie Wiesel
Rating: 5 Stars
This first book of Elie Wiesel's Night Trilogy is gripping and extremely sad. It is the story of a teenage boy's struggle to stay alive and maintain faith in the concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau during the Holocaust. This book is a must-read, but make sure you have a box of Kleenex next to you.

Melinda
Cruise Control by Terry Trueman
Rating: 4 Stars
This book is fiction, but is about a very real topic. A highschool boy has a brother who suffers from celebral palsy, and he doesn't know how to be a good brother without feeling bad.
