Rating: 3 Stars
This is a story about a guy named Siddhartha and his journey to find himself. Siddhartha goes through many changes and finally decides to choose his own path. He tries many different ways to gain "nirvana," or the inner peace, but becomes discouraged. This book is really good and everyone should read this classic.

Amp'd: A Father's Backstage Pass by Gary Fincke
Rating: 5 Stars
I'm reading a book titled AMP'D: A FATHER'S BACKSTAGE PASS by Gary Fincke.
I'm still in the first half of this book, but it is really awesome so far. It's about four years in the life of his son, Aaron, who's a guitarist from Breaking Benjamin. It tells the story of all the bands he's gone through, and how the life of a musician really is.
I really love this book so far, and aside from the bad language that's to be expected in a non-fiction story like this, it is a really inspirational book to read.
So go get it!
Ashley Barnett
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is completely enthralling. While reading this novel, I was distracted from reality as I transformed into Bella. I felt everything she felt, saw everything she saw; I breathed in Edward's sweet entrapping breath. I'm literally dying to satisfy my hunger for the next novel, NEW MOON.

Chobits by Clamp
Rating: 5 Stars
I'm recommending --- no I'm demanding you to read this! It's an interesting story set in the future, where there are Perscoms (basically computer robot-like things that are almost indistinguishable from humans). It sounds dumb when I say that... but it's REALLY good.

Contents Under Pressure by Lara M. Zeises
Rating: 4 Stars
This book is really great for teen girls. It's about a girl named Lucy who, at the age of 14, has never been kissed. Almost all of her friends have boyfriends and her favorite brother doesn't seem to have enough time for her since he moved away for university. Everything seems to be turning out for the worst when Lucy runs into (literally) this cute boy. She starts looking for him in the hallways at school, but he seems to only appear when she's rushing and she crashes into him. This is a great story with a perfect ending, and the reader will be flipping the pages, looking in astonishment and wishing there were more.

Still Can't See Nothin' Comin' by Daniel Grey Marshall
Rating: 5 Stars
This book really made me think about how my life as a teen was being lived. I could see my life in this book, and there were some sections when I was at the point of tears due to the reality of it all. I loved it, but it really shocked me at the same time.

Black by Ted Dekker
Rating: 5 Stars
This book deserves more than 5 stars --- it should get 1 million. It's about a 25-year-old man who owes money to thugs. After not paying them back for a few years, they track him down and almost kill him, but he defends himself with super kewl moves. He falls alseep and is transported into another world --- a black forest. In this world he finds out that a virus is going to be set loose in the other world.
Read this and you won't be sorry. Also in this series are RED and WHITE. Both deserve a million stars.
Amber
Blink by Ted Dekker
Rating: 5 Stars
This book is about a 26-year-old guy who's a genius and whose IQ makes Einstein's look average (quoted from the book). It's also about a 20 year-old girl, Miriam, who is a princess in Saudi Arabia. After witnessing a friend's drowning and learning that she must marry a man known for extreme violence against women, she runs away to America --- only to be ratted out. Seth (the genius) has a 'vision' that Miriam is in the woman's bathroom and a guy is pointing a gun at her head. This is when the real story starts. You'll just have to read the rest.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
I borrowed Meyer's novel, TWILIGHT from a friend, thinking I'd browse. Saturday morning I opened it up as a start to my day. I became so engrossed in the emotional storyline that I read it all day long! I couldn't make myself put it down until I finished. As it turns out, it was the end to my day as well. I can't wait until her next novel comes out!
Melissa Williams
Perfect by Natasha Friend
Rating: 1 Stars
I don't think this book should have been published. I think that this kind of subject matter should be kept personal and not be publically announced. There is no need for this type of material to be written for such a young audience.
Katlyn Underwood
Summer Boys by Hailey Abbott
Rating: 4 Stars
It was a very good book and I would give it 4 stars.
Leia
The Crimes and Punishments of Miss Payne by Barry Jonsberg
Rating: 5 Stars
THE CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS OF MISS PAYNE is the most hilarious book I have ever read. I was in stitches throughout the entire book. Also, the characters (who get themselves into all sorts of crazy situations) and descriptions are very vivid and original. I would also recommend SON OF THE MOB by Gordon Korman, another hilarious book.
Aruba
Trapped by Greg Iles
Rating: 5 Stars
It's a page turner... I stayed all night to finish it in one go. It has everything from mystery, emotions, greed, etc.
Delaney
Under the Jolly Roger by L.A. Meyer
Rating: 5 Stars
UNDER THE JOLLY ROGER is my absolute favorite book of all time in my absolute favorite series, which starts with BLOODY JACK and THE CURSE OF THE BLUE TATTOO (BLOODY JACK centers around an orphan in the early 19th century who disguises herself as a boy to join the crew of a ship, where she finds romance, friendship, and soo much more. CURSE OF THE BLUE TATTOO is the sequel where Jacky is sent to a finishing school in Boston --- and, well, screws it up). This book has you constantly guessing what Jacky will do next. I love the action! Plus, L.A. Meyer is a great writer, with lots of description.

Brittany
Borrowed Light by Anna Fienberg
Rating: 4 Stars
The imagery and the theories expressed in this novel are truly indivual... you start to feel like you are Cally's (the protaganist) best friend, rather than a stranger reading about her life.

The Commitments by Roddy Doyle

Rating: 4 Stars
I really think this book has a lot of perspective. It's about a girl with an eating disorder. A friend tells the story unbelievably and wonderfully of the ups and downs of adolescenthood.
Laura Newton
Dear Zoe by Phillip Beard
Rating: 5 Stars
Written as a series of letters from the teenaged Tess to her younger sister Zoe, this book draws us into the wreckage of a family after Zoe is killed in a car accident on September 11, 2001. Unlike other books about 9/11, this book deals with the terrorist attacks only in passing. But by ignoring the larger tragedy, we are drawn further into the smaller (but no less damaging and catastrophic) tragedy of the death of a child and a sister. I'd read this book again and again because it was so moving. Tess has a real voice, and reacts realistically to the different challenges she faces while dealing with her sister's death.
Laura Newton
Valiant by Holly Black
Rating: 4 Stars
This book took an unusual premise ---faeries are real, and walk around in our world --- and a quirky and endearing narrator, Val, and combined them to form an excellent book for contemporary fantasy author Holly Black. It's a serious book (Val runs away from home, lives on the streets, and experiments with a glamorous Faerie drug called "Never"), but a captivating read.
Denae Merillat
Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar

The Dead Zone by Stephen King
Rating: 2 Stars
I just finished reading THE DEAD ZONE for an english project. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. It is so unbelievably long and drawn-out. There is more then one plot in the novel, and because of this, the novel peaks in the first 200 pages and leaves you with 250 more pages to read. It took me forever to finish this book and left me wanting oh so much more.

The Fallen (The Nine Lives of Chloe King) by Celia Thomson
Rating: 4 Stars
Right now I'm reading THE FALLEN, Volume One of THE NINE LIVES OF CHLOE KING, and it's really good. It has some supernatural aspects (ie. Chloe becomes a cat person, falls off Coit Tower and doesn't die) but there's also things I can relate to, like the mother-daughter relationship, her two best friends dating, etc. I can't wait to read Volume Two.

Rating: 5 Stars
I really enjoyed reading these books... even though I haven't completely finished yet. I really recommend that you read them!!
Lisa
Night by Elie Wiesel
Rating: 5 Stars
I finished this book not to long ago. It is about a man's experiences in the Holocaust. The reason I loved it was because it was so raw, and it was written by a person who WAS IN the Holocaust, so it wasn't guessed or assumed. When I closed the book I bursted into tears and sobbed for so long because it just all caught up with me. You HAVE to read this book.
Ana Lisa
Car Trouble by Jeanne DuPrau
Rating: 4 Stars
This is a pretty funny book about a boy who is trying to drive across the country in six days.
Alycia
Jinx by Margaret Wild
Rating: 5 Stars
I just finished JINX by Margaret Wild, and it was one of the greatest books I've read in a while! Although it was quick to read (it was written in free verse), it was awesome. It dealt with many different teen issues (suicide, death, love, divorce, friendship, homosexuality....). The poems alternated between Jenn, the main character, and her friends and family, and I felt like I could connect with all of them. This is a must-read!
Alycia
Zigzag by Ellen Wittlinger

The Kidnapping of Christina Lattimore by Joan Lowery Nixon
Rating: 4 Stars
I just read THE KIDNAPPING OF CHRISTINA LATTIMORE and it was very suspenseful. It kept me wondering "who-done-it" till the very end. Joan Lowery Nixon is such a great mystery writer. The way she writes makes it seem like you're in the story, hearing a strange sound or thump. Very scary.

I personally believe boys would not enjoy these books. But they are, as my vati says, a hoot and a half. Georgia's absurd comments always pick me up when I am down.

My Secret War: The World War II Diary of Madeline by Mary Pope Osborne
Rating: 4 Stars
This book is about a diary of a girl named Madeline Beck. Her family lives in a boarding house in Long Island, NY. Her father is fighting in World War II and he becomes injured during a battle in the Pacific.
His injuries are not that critical. His hands are burnt so he cannot write letters to Maddie. He will be moved to Las Vegas for further treatment and recovery. This will also help him in case he is to return to the work force.
The family moves to Las Vegas to be with their father. The residents of the boarding house come to visit the family in Las Vegas.
I thought this was a really good book because I really enjoy reading about the times surrounding the war. Anyone who is interested in history and the past would like this book.
Kia
The Will of the Empress by Tamora Pierce
Rating: 4 Stars
I've been waiting on this book since SHATTERGLASS and it was worth every bit of money I paid for it. While it was not as action oriented as her other Circle books it was a more mature view, with a focus on politics in a world where people are mages and have power. The four (Sandry, Tris, Briar, and Daja) have come of age and this book really shows how they have grown. I was shocked by the revelations told but they just enhanced the plot line. I would reccomend that every TP fan should buy this book and others should definately read it.

So Yesterday by Scott Westerfeld
Rating: 4 Stars
When I read the first few pages of this book, I was hooked instantly. I loved how the characters were so different from the other books that I read. Also, I know it's "wrong" to judge a book by it's cover but I loved the cover of Westerfeld's book. It's unique, fun, and cool! Too bad I read the library copy, I just wanted to keep it!
