Two books I have just finished reading are:

Special by Bella Bathurst
This story of British girls on a field trip is interesing, dark at times, and gives a lot of insight into the cliquish, spiteful, insecure world of young teen girls. I found it a bit long, although generally worth reading. I give it 2/5.

The Lake House by James Patterson
This is a suspenseful, all-too-possible sci-fi novel. The plot was exciting and interesting, and had some twists and surprises. I didn't much like the simplistic writing style and short-chapter format, but others might. I give it 3/5.

Currently I'm reading Fever 1793 which is very good because it leaves you with a warm feeling inside even during the difficult parts. It is historical fiction.

I also recommend the Artemis Fowl books read in order for the intriguing plot and unpredictable twists.

I just currently read "The Catcher in the Rye."An old classic, it may sound boring but once you start it you just can't put it down. I read it in about 2 hours. I just kept reading and reading. It makes you think and is a great book.

My name is Jenn, and I am currently reading White Oleanders by Janet Fitch. It is an amazing novel. It takes you on an emotion filled journey; a journey through a teenage girl's life. Astrid is merely 12 years old when her mother is arrested and charged for murder, and sentenced to a life in prison. Astrid finds her world falling apart. As she desperately trys to pick up the crumbling pieces of her childhood, she is placed in foster care. Bouncing around from one unfit home to the next, she has completely lost hope of any kind of sanity in the world. Can her life make an unexpected turn for the better? You will most certainly find the answer, and a few of your own shed tears, in this touching novel.

I just read a great new book so I thought I would pass it on to you guys to share with others. I love poetry that is based around real life issues. Me being a teenage girl myself, I like reading about other teens. Gives you a sence of that others know what your going through. So the book is called Things I have to tell you by Betsy Franco. Hope you like it!

Well, I haven't done as much reading this summer as I would have liked. Buthere are the books I have read:

-"Bless Me, Ultima" by Rudolfo Anaya
4.5 STARS OUT OF 5
A wonderful book, all about the growing up of a boy divided between his parents and by his life in New Mexico. A very cultural book that I absolutely love. It is extremely interesting and captivating.

-"West Side Story" by Arthur Laureats
3 STARS OUT OF 5
Well, what can I say? I love the movie so much that the book wasn't as interesting because I couldn't hear the music. The book and the movie are identical. This book was in play format, with the songs and everything. But if you really want to get
into what the actors say in the movie/play then I'd recommend reading this book.

-"Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" by J.K. Rowling
5 STARS OUT OF 5
I love it. I have loved the 4th and 5th books more than the 2nd and 3rd, but who could love anything more than the first book? No one! The only comment I would have is that Sirius's death was NOT dramatic until afterwards, which I thought was a shame. She could have made people's eyes brim with tears, but the way he dies in the heat of things isn't quite what I had expected from Rowling. I LOVE the character of Professor Umbridge.

Now I don't mean love as in like her: who could? But I mean love as in she is a great character to think of. I mean imagine the squat little old toad of a woman with a seemingly sweet personality, but she really has the attitude of a rhinoceros. Great book, recommend it to EVERYONE!

I am also reading a few books that I really like:

-"Ruffian, Burning from the Start" by Jane Schwartz: About the famous racehorse filly Ruffian. A really great book. We have the book about Seabiscuit, now heres one for all the mares and fillies (females)! Great book.

-"The Forsyte Saga" by John Gallsworthy: I was first inspired to read this when I saw the PBS series. It's a very long book, 1,000+ pages, but when I say book, I mean all the combined "books" of the series. The version of TFS that I have combines them all into one book, which is probably the best way to read it. It helps you keep track of all the different characters. It is an extremely good read that brings you to know the main character, Irene, without you ever knowing her thoughts! It's amazing.

-"Seabiscuit" by Laura Hillenbrand: What modern person has not heard of this book? Of course I am reading it, and I love it. The movie is good, the book is good. Props to Laura Hillenbrand.

Hello-
Right now I'm reading The Notebook by: Nicholas Sparks. I'm only on the second chapter, I just started yesterday.
I did just finish Harry Potter and The Order Of Phoenix. It was a really good book, but I did expect a little more suspense toward the end when they talked about Harry meeting Voldemort in the Department of Mysteries. But otherwise, I truly can't complain.

Hey!
The book I'm about to tell you about is called fat chance. It is a compeling portrall about a girl named Judi liebowits who deals with peer pressure and battles the urge to be like the most popular and skinny girl in the 8th grade by being balemic. Suddenly juli lifes spins out of control with her obsession with food, calories, and pounds. weight is no longer just the same old 8th grade problem its a matter of life or death.

I have read many and recomend any books by Nicholas Sparks, especially the one titled "A Bend in the Road" It's an extremely great book that keeps its reader interested and it is almost impossible to put down when the mysterious parts pop up. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

tiffani_ba@hotmail.com
I've just finished reading Honor Lost by Norma Khouri. It's a true story about Khouri's best friend Dalia who was the victim of an 'honor killing' in Jordan. A Muslim woman, she had been secretly dating a Catholic man.

Khouri writes to raise awareness and to remember her friend. This book raises a lot of powerful emotions, and is a strong demand for women's rights in the Arab world. I give it 4/5, and highly recommend it, especially for young women.

Here are the books I have read this month:
-The Frog Princess (very funny and an entertaining change from the classic fairy tale)-- 5*'s
-Project Princess, volume 4 1/2--it's short but still as good as the other ones--4*'s
-The Princesses of Bamarre--so far it is pretty good, but then again I'm not finished yet
-Cat's Cradle--not something I would generally read (I had to for school) but it turned out to be pretty interesting--just be prepared for several odd things)--3.5*'s
-Midnight Predator (as good as any of the other books that Rhodes has written)--5*'s
