Hello, My name is Stephanie and I am 13 years old and live in Minneapolis, Minnesota and I would like to provide some Recommendations and Ratings of a few books that I have and want to read and enjoyed.
I have read The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants and the sequel The Second Summer of The Sisterhood by Ann Brashares. I really do recommend these two books because they are comedy, adventure, and romance put togeather which a lot of teens enjoy to read. The books show what real friendship is and how rare it is to find this kind of unconditional love and how believing in things can take you a long way. I would give both books 5 out of 5 stars.
I have also read The Giver by Lois Lowry this book is an amazing journey of a kid that recieves a new talent that is given to him that he should be able to control and be careful with. He is just a young adult that is struggeling with the facts and what he discovers something bad is about to happen to one of his sibbling and his struggle to save him. I loved this book and I thought it was a great read and it gives the reader a wider imagination I rate the book 4 out of 5 stars.
Out of the Dust is a great book by Karen Hesse. It is a diary of a girl who is trying to get by after her mother has died and she is to balme. Her dad is ignoring what had happened and she wants to play the piano which is her only escape but her hands are holding her back and the sand stroms take place from time to time in to book. I would give it 3 out of 5 stars
Tuck Everlasting by Natile Babbitt is also a great book. It shows that life is valuable and why it is important to know why you die and how it is many peoples wish to live forever. There is this family who does live forever, but they understand what it feels like to stay the same and wanting to live like everyone else and eventually die. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
A Walk to Remember by Nicolas Sparks is one of the best romances I have ever read. It is about a girl who didn't care about what other people saw and she didn't get the attention of all the boys but when she does catch an eye of one boy she changes him forever. I also give this book 5 of out 5 stars.
Right now I am going to start to read Lovely Bones and from what I hear it is a very good. I also have observed that it variese from young adults to adults that have read it. Another book I would like to start is the whole Series of Anne of Green Gables and Little Women. After summer during the school year I am going to start the fifth Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoneix i think that i would like to read it off to the side and not have so many other people reading it during the popular time after it came out and have them spoil parts by discussing about them.
Thank you for taking time to read my entry and my thoughts, opinions, and summary of each book.. Thanks again..

I actually just read Speed Of Light. The story picked up a bit at the end, but to me, the story was quite dull and had a hard time keeping my interest. Other books I've read were Shattering Glass -- this is a most excellent book. It has a quite chilling plot and always keeps you reading. I enjoyed this book so much, I read it in one night finishing at 1 in the morning. And of course... Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I am a Harry Potter obsessor... and, well... this installment did have me hanging on the edge of my seat, but it turned out to be my least favorite of all the books. I finished the book at 12:25 p.m... the day the book was released, so it might have been speed read, but since that time, I have read it again. Reading it again has proved a better read, but I found the plot kind of loose and dull. I felt stressed reading the book. But still, no matter what, YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!!!!

Alice, I Think by Susan Juby - 3.5 stars
This book gives the reader a sneak preview into the life of Alice, a teenage girl with a not-so-normal life. We experience Alice's lows, her highs, and everything in between. By the end of the book, you feel like a friend of Alice's. This book had a few low points, and certain parts seemed a bit too slow, but other than that it was a good novel!

I have just finished reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by JK Rowling, and I give it 4/5. I really enjoyed it, it had all the magic of the other books. However, the much talked about 'death scene' was almost insignificant, except in the impact it had on Harry. I see it as a transition book, preparing the readers for the last two in the series. Harry fans will like it, but other might not want to spend the money.

I have read some great books this summer! A book called Flipped by: Wendelin Van Draanen is a GREAT book. In alternating chapters, two teenagers describe how their feelings about themselves, each other, and their families have changed over the years. I give it a five stars out of five.
The Lovely Bones by: Alice Sebold is another good book. It is about a girl named Susie who has disappeared. Her school-friends are trading rumors about it, her family is hoping that she will soon be found, and her killer is covering his tracks. Susie watches from heaven about how life is after her disappearance. Her parent's marriage is being contorted by loss, her sister hardening herself in an effort to stay strong, and her little brother trying to grasp the meaning of the word gone. I give this book a 4 out of 5, but it is still really good.
Dreamland is an awesome book. The author is Sarah Dessen. This is a tale of a young girl held prisoner by her dreams. A spell keeps Caitlin in a dreamland from which she can't break free--even when the dreams turn into nightmares. I give this book a five out of five.
I am currently reading the book called Eva by Peter Dickinson. It is about a girl who wakes up in a hospital bed while her mother explains about the accident and the coma, Eva senses there is something they are not telling her--a price she must pay to be alive. So far I give this five stars!

Where the Heart is by: Billie Letts, is also a great book that I am reading. It will make you smile, it will make you laugh, and it will make you cry. This book is great and I rate it a five out of five. It is about how a teenager named Novalee Nation who is pregnant and abandoned by her boyfriend at a Wal-Mart tries to get on with life. It is a great book and I recommend you read it.

Hi, my name is Alyssa! Here is a list of books that I would recommend other people to read.
I have rated the books on a scale of one to five.
The Killer's Cousin-by: Nancy Werlin (I give it a 5!)
Any Harry Potter books (5...they are all great!)
Jane Eyre (4 1/2...somewhat boring, but if you have a lot of spare time it is very intriguing.)
A Walk to Remember (5!!! It made me cry twice!)
The Song of the Lioness series (5! I love those books, I've read them each so many times!)
Ella Enchanted (5, it's like a Cinderella story...and I like those kind of books.)

At the beginning of Summer, I have read "Lost in A Good Book," by Jasper Fforde.
From the start of the book, I became easily absorbed into the book.
The author combines humor, well thought plots, and great personalities of the characters in the book. Thursday Next (the main character's name) is a sensible, optimistic, and a pretty intelligent woman. As a Spec-Ops 27 (detective level in the company she goes to) , she goes through many events in her life, and it's her goal to solve problems (social, job, personal) on the way. I highly recommend this book for those that are in the above intermediate level of reading. You can imagine you're the main character, and solve problems on the way yourself. Keep a close eye on the book, I think you'll really enjoy it!! I did....

I would highly reccomend any book by Sarah Dessen. I just recently discovered this author and she is really wonderful. The books I've read by her i give 5 out of 5*s. I also recommend all the books in the Harry Potter series. I know most people think they are juvenile, but that is not so. I loved books 1-4, although 5 was a dissapointment after waiting for it for 2 or so years. It was all negative, hardly anything happy, not a good vibe! The rest are awesome though, especially 4. 5*s out of 5. The book I would recommend the most would be Sloppy Firsts and Second Helpings by Megan McAfferty(i believe thats how u spell it). They are the funniest books i have ever read. I laughed constantly. The 2nd is better than the 1st, couldnt put it down! They are abt a girl named Jessica Darling who's life most any teen can relate too. If you feel sometimes that no one understands what's truly going on inside your head, then this book is for you. It is written as her journal, but some is in the present timing. 20 *s out of 10. I was assigned a summer reading project on The Lord of the Flies. I havent read it yet and was wondering if anyone could tell me they're oppinions, please.
meg8736@hotmail.com
Right now I'm reading the 5th Harry Potter book. I won't give away any details but Harry is more angrier in this book than any of the others before. So far I really like it! I have also read "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" by Steven Chybosky (I believe) and I really like it. I give both of these a 5/5!
chica_dude89@hotmail.com
I suggest the "His Dark Materials Series by Philip Pullman. This series takes readers to all kinds of different worlds in different times. There is also lots of excitment all the time. They are happy and sad at the same time, and this is one of those series I liked so much I read some of it in the dark backseat of my car. Its awesome. I also suggest the Artemis Fowl books by Eoin Colfer. They have a lot of fun characters from different worlds too.
fairyprincessm8@yahoo.com

-Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (5 *'s)
-The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (4.5 *'s)

frogqueen1216@msn.com
