I am reading a really great series called Making Out. Its about Teens who live on a small island and are just learning everything about each other. I would recommend it for all teens because it is just so explainative. I would recommend it for the younger teens because it kind of helps them to look forward and look out for stuff in the upcoming adolescence. For the middle teen because its pretty much perfect to help them out in tough times like sex and feelings. And for the older teen because it is really just SO good. I really hope that even if this doesn't win whatever you people will check it out it is such a great series.

What My Mother Doesn't Know by Sonya Sones ***** (5 stars)
This is a fabulous book written in the form of poems. The poems are like diary entries. The book tells about all of the boyfriends of a girl. At last she finds a great boyfriend, in one of the ugliest, and most teased boy in school. But he is really very nice, friendly, funny, and a good kisser.

Iamshort830@aol.com

Dreamland By:Sarah Dressen
Caitlin is a popular cheerleader, on the verge of success, when suddenly, she sees a man everywhere she goes and can't get him out of her head. After meeting him a couple of times, he turns into her steady boyfriend. She begins to become scared of her boyfriend, who becomes violent when something doesn't go his way. She watches her watch closely, and never wants to leave the house in fear that he will become angry. He begins to get physical, first just a little, than a lot. It became so noticeable, that Caitlin could no longer where short sleeves or shirts. Her mother, who is obsessed with her runaway sister, doesn't seem to notice, so Caitlin continues seeing her violent boyfriend. Until one day, her friends force her to go have fun with them, and when she returns, her boyfriend is waiting there, and he had been waiting there for a long time. He is angry and throws her about, until finally he knocks her out of his BMW and onto the road. Her mother hears the commotion a! nd comes running out, calling the police on Caitlin's boyfriend. At the end, Caitlin is sent to a rehab, and her boyfriend is set on parole, even though this is not his first time to beat a girlfriend. This is a very tragic, and emotional story, I rate it a 10+, which means higher than a 10. At the beginning, I thought it was kind of boring, but then by the time I got to 1/4 of it, I couldn't put it down. Read this book, it's full of reality, and doesn't sugar-coat anything.

The first name, Georgie, is about a girl who works at a dog shop and has problems with her parents. Title: The Virgin Suicides
Author: Jeffrey Eugenides
Genre: Suspense

Synopsis: This book takes place in the 1970s and is told by an unidentifiable boy who once had an obsession with the Lisbon girls. "The Virgin Suicides" is about 5 young sisters and their doomed fate. They are not permitted to interact with males. This leads to the suicides of the youngest sister, Cecilia. After this the remaining four sisters: Lux, Mary, Bonnie, and Therese are never the same again. One boy imparticular takes interest in Lux and will do whatever it takes to see her. He isn't the only one that is fascinated by the 5 girls. Many boys that live in the same wealthy suburb are also enchanted by them and make several attempts to find out more about what goes on behind the closed door and dark windows of their mysterious house.

My Opinion: I really enjoyed the book and it held my interest most of the time. Although, it was difficult for me to relate most of the time, I know what it is like to have an obsession with someone who is mysterious and doesn't feel the same way about you. I did expect it to be much better than it actually was though. My only other criticism is that "The Virgin Suicides" took forever to read.

Recommendations: I would absolutely recommend this book to someone (if they have the time and the patience to read it).

Rating: ***** (5 stars)

Kiss the Dust by Elizabeth Laird is an exciting tale about a Midwestern family. It is a fictitious novel about a family's struggles to survive the war in Iraq against Kurds like themselves. It tells about 12- year- old Tara Hawrami and her family, her father Kak Soran, her mother Teriska Khan, her older brother Ashti Hawrami and her little sister Hero Hawrami. In my opinion, Kiss the Dust is a must read. If you are looking for a good book to read and have not read it yet, I highly recommend it. Kiss the Dust definitely earned 5 stars from me. From cover to cover you will not be able to put it down.

Hannibal has been in the shadows for seven years after escaping from the asylum, and once again, the chase is on between Starling, a greedy Italian detective, and a multi-millionaire victim of Lecter who wants deadly revenge. Only one will survive.
My Opinion: Suspenseful, detailed (sometimes too detailed), intriguing, a book that you cannot put down until it is over.
Recommendation: I would recommend this book to anybody who can read a long book, keep up with exquisite details, and knows about the storyline before reading the book.

The book that I read was ZIM (An Autobiography of Don Zimmer) by Don Zimmer. It was an autobiography. This book takes you through the life of Don Zimmer including his baseball professions and his family. It takes you through Don's playing career and his coaching career with some interesting facts told by Don Zimmer about himself and his other teammates that you can't find out anywhere else. This book was amazing. It was not like any other autobiography I've ever read. It was humorous and interesting throughout the entire book. I recommend this book to all baseball fans especially diehard Yankee fans like myself. I give this book 5 stars!!!

I do know that their are many teens out there like me. We're the ones that sit around and dream of the perfect guy and the perfect romance. We're dreamers. That's why we absolutely love historical romance novels. My favorite authors are: Julie Garwood, Geralyn Dawson, and Samantha James. I've read other books and other authors. However, these are my top three favorite authors. My favorite book, which is really a series, by Garwood is FOR THE ROSES. My favorite books by Dawson is THE WEDDING RAFFLE and THE WEDDING RANSOM. And my favorite book by James is HIS WICKED WAYS. Hope that these recommendations help you. I love all of Nicolas Sparks novels. His newest book is the only one of his I haven't read yet. I do plan on reading it, though. Thank you! ~Jessica~

My Opinion: OH MY GOSH!!! EVERYONE HAS TO READ THIS BOOK!! The summary I wrote above doesn't even explain half of the the excitment, heart ache, and feeling of friendship this books brings to its readers. This has to be one of the best books I've ever read! Clever, funny, and truly dramatic!!!! If you're turned off my the whole "magical pants" thing, don't let that convince you not to read the book, it really isn't corny

Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli (4 stars)
This book is in the point of view of Leo Borlock, a boy at Mica High. Mica is a little town in the middle of Arizona, it is surrounded with desert. On the first day of school, everyone is talking about the new girl in school. Her name is Stargirl and she was home schooled until now. She plays a ukele and has a pet rat that she brings everywhere with her. At first everyone likes her and she is the most popular girl in school. But then she something happens and the whole school turns on her. The only person that remains friends with her is Leo.
I think this is a great book and teaches people to be more tolerant of people that are different from them. More girls will enjoy this book than boys, but people of all ages will like this book.

Combine heartache, triumph and tragedy to form the amazing story plot for Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson, a dramatic life-changing story suited perfectly for emotional woman. This remarkable novel is written about a young woman doctor who struggles to finds hope in her miserable, yet promising life. Finally, the will to go on lays in her new born son, Nicholas, to whom she keeps a diary of her fears, failures, and accomplishments. The newly formed family moves to cheery and taint Cape May to what seems like the ideal life for the ideal family ... until again, bad-luck strikes Suzanne turning her "perfect" life into an array of mayhem. All the while, this diary is being read by an ex-wife of Suzanne's husband, whose jealously turns into despondency when the real truth comes out, shocking her beyond belief. This allows two-points of view to form and especially helps to r! eiterate the astounding events taking place. Personally, I laughed, I cried and I certainly enjoyed to book, cover to cover! It's a stunning novel appropriate for anyone who needs a good cry on a dreary day. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up for this spectacular piece of literature!

I recently read the book The Bell Jar. I really liked this autobiographical novel written by Sylvia Plath. The story follows a woman named Esther Greenwood through her time as an intern at a fashion magazine. The tale goes back and forth between Esther's past and present, and slowly takes the reader into Esther's quick spiral into depression. Not after long, Esther tries to commit suicide and has to go to an insane asylum. In this book, the narrator is Esther, and she is basically the only character that plays a large role in the story, although, there are some other important people in the book. Some of these characters include Doreen, Esther's roommate at the all-girls hotel she is staying at that is for all of the interns at the magazine, Buddy Willard, a man that everyone believes Esther is going to marry even though she doesn't want to, and Joan, who comes to the asylum soon ! after Esther and indirectly helps Esther get better. I absolutely loved this book and would give it 5 stars, but I would not recommend it for people who do not enjoy depressing books because this book is very touching and sad.

My Book was the classic of The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy. This was an exciting tail that took place back when the french revolution had started. The book was about a heroic figure sworn to protect the helpless none as the Scarlet Pimpernel. I felt that this book was great, it was exciting and i could hardly put it down. Some parts were slow and this might not be for younger kid but this was a terrific book that i enjoyed. I rate this book a 4 out of 5.

For those who doesnt like science fiction, forget that disliking, and read Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. For those who already adore science fiction, its shameful to not to read it. It is an amazing book, about a boy named Ender, and how he came to be one of the most important person in the future history of Earth. the story beings when the buggers (aliens who looks like bugs, hence the nickname) had attacked Earth twice and the humankind were trying to prevent next attack. instead of upgrading military technology, people turned to genetic engineering, developing very intelligent and athletic children. One of those children was Ender, and the story begins there. Orson Scott Card made that story into a terrifying and shocking tale which made me feel spellbound when i was finished with the book. Ender's Game will stick ! to you til the end (i guarantee it).

Here are three great books I have read in the past few years:

1. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith - An extremely well written book about a family growing up in poverty in Brooklyn, NY in the early 1900s. A great story that will have you into it from page one.
2. The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton - The story of a gang of adolescents growing up in a bad neighborhood, forced to fend for themselves. Another excellently written novel.
3. Heart of a Champion by Carl Deuker - A story of baseball, hard work, and true friendship. A very intriguing novel about two friends, Seth and Jimmy, who share a similar passion and learn many valuable life lessons along the way.

Tamora Pierce's "Wild Magic" is an excellent read. You have to read this
wonderful book!! Go with Daine on her journey to the castle in Tortall, and
find the friends she meets on the way. You will love the characters and feel
as if you are there beside them! You will realize that there is more to the
world than looks and that past sometimes doesn't matter. It was definately
worth the time and money.

I just finished reading Speak by: Laurie Halse Anderson. This is one of the few books out of the many I have recently read that deserves an excellent rating. After being raped at a party and calling the cops because she doesn't know what else to do, Melinda plunges into a world of isolation and abandonment. To me this book accurately depicts how our social society creates outcasts, and seems to be an eye opener for every reader. I highly recommendd this book!

ARettini@aol.com
The best book I have read recently is written by Jason Perry of the group Plus One. The book is titled "You are not your own" and is a testimony of his life.

It is written in a way that all teenagers can relate to and it isn't a very big book so you can read it easily without gettind tired of reading.

I had the pleasure of meeting him in person when they were here for a concert and it meant a lot to me. He is not like a typical star but very nice and spent time talking to me. All teenagers could use him as a role model.

I'm writing to tell you about the books I'm reading. I love the Bingo Brown series by Betsy Byars. I'm 15 but I love these books because they are written for younger kids. I can read them over and over again without getting bored of them. I think that they all should get 5 stars for helping me hang on to my youth.

Aaacrewkids@aol.com

Bellababez16@aol.com
These are the books I have read in the past month,
More Than You Know by Beth Gutcheon, Awesome book. It follows two stories which are connected in the end. The two stories go every other chapter. Each chapter leaves you with a cliff hanger and u can't wait to find out what happens.
Also, A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks, Such a tear jerker. This book got me hooked on all of Nicholas Spark's books, the only one I haven't read is A Bend in the Road
Another Nicholas Sparks book is The Notebook which is like a tale of neverending love, veerryy good, I lent it to my friends, its that good!!

StarDust1335@aol.com

A book called Phoenix Rising by Karen Hesse. I got it from my best friend almost 5 years ago and whenever I'm in the mood to read a great book, I pick it up. It's an extremely touching story about people at the worst of times and how people can care for each other so much. It's a very sad book, so I guess it's good also when you need a good cry.

IRLMIE@aol.com

Haunted sister is really a page turner! It is kinda hard to follow...but in the end...its worth it! This girl gets in a car accident and her heart stops, so she is dead, but then the doctors use those paddle thingys lol to recucitate her, but she doesnt come back alone. Physically, shes one person, but on the inside she is two. Her twin sister that died when they were 4 is in her mind. Soon, things get outta control! ITS A GREAT BOOK! I totally recomend it!

SUPERgirrl25@aol.com
This is a great fantasy book that I absolutely loved! Sophie, who is the eldest of three, gets turned into an old lady by the Witch of the Waste. She goes to "seek her fortune" and what she discovers is more than she can handle!

MuZiCGirLY1@aol.com
The well-known entertainer Marie Osmond, in her book, Behind the Smile: My Journey Out of Postpartum Depression claims that many women suffer from Postpartum Depression (PPD) by sharing her personal journey through this condition. Marie tells of early experiences that led up to her depression, her thoughts and feelings as she goes through it, and the steps she took to recover from it. The book is a narrative told chronologically from a first person point of view and is the story of Marie's courageous and triumphant journey out of postpartum depression. She tells women suffering from PPD that they are not alone in order to open the curtain of PPD and reassure women that they should not be ashamed of having it. Marie establishes a very personal connection with a wide audience - from women with PPD and their close ones to fans looking for an inspirational story. I would give this book 4 star! s, because it is inspiring but may not appeal to all.
