WRITTEN IN THE STARS

Why have an astrology column on a book review site? Why not?!

I know my friends buy books for all sorts of reasons: how the covers look, what their favorite daytime talk show host is reading, recommendations from their sister, what is on their reading list for certain classes. I mean, my best friend found her "favorite" book by peering over the shoulder of the cute guy on the bus and seeing what he was reading.

I think that more books should be bought through the guidance of the heavens and less through such hit or miss methods. Each month, I will spotlight the birthday sign, point out a couple of that sign's character features and suggest books that would fit those personality traits.

And what if you hate a book I suggest for your sign? I'd like to think that it has less to do with my talent as an astrologer and more to do with the position of your Moon sign.

If you have an Aries pal, you are super lucky, because they are the most loyal friends. No one will be able to diss you with a Ram friend around. But don't try and give them any advice or compete with them; Rams like to be in charge. Be sure to give him or her lots of birthday presents (like the above books). Rams thrive on attention.
