What book on your English class reading list are you dreading the most?

twinkie@yahoo.com
I break out in a cold sweat just thinking about having to suffer through BEOWULF, the most boring and overly epic poem in the history of literature. I am also plagued by nervous ticks at the prospect of TESS OF THE DURBERVILLES by Thomas Hardy.

After looking at my reading list for the upcoming year and seeing BILLY BUD by Herman Melville I was convinced there were evil forces at work in my school.

jazzynazzy@aol.com
ETHAN FROME by Edith Wharton. 'nuff said.

Erickajacklann@aol.com

We have a lot of dumb books like THE TIME MACHINE and TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD and stupid books, I hate reading books.

Crazy01dazy12@aol.com
HATCHET. I had to hear my librarian in elementary school read it to us.

moonpie77@earthlink.net
ANTHEM by Ayn Rand. Why, dear god, why?

PaperPistol@aol.com
None. So far I haven't even gotten a list, haha. Usually I have no qualms with what to read, though.

WitchyAmanda10@aol.com
I HATE Alice Walker and we have to read THE COLOR PURPLE this year. Gross.

GR2GOOD2BTRUE@aol.com
I'm dreading a project I have to do for English class about the book FALLEN ANGELS by Walter Dean Myers. If you know of any one who has read it and can help me with this project, PLEASE e-mail me and tell me who it is.

My brother said A FAREWELL TO ARMS by Ernest Hemingway is the most boring book ever and I have to read it for AP English this year. I hate my teacher.

Dreamagurl2006@aol.com
ROMEO AND JULIET, definitely.

Cato2004@aol.com
I am hating FRANKENSTEIN! UGH!! It's terrible!

NIIWJ@aol.com
I would have to say THE CALL OF THE WILD, by Jack London. I think books like REDWALL, CASTAWAYS OF THE FLYING DUTCHMEN, THE OUTSIDERS, and A GIFT OF MAGIC are what we should read instead. Jack London was a hard working author, but my taste just doesn't stick with him.

Christy2006@aol.com
TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD by Harper Lee.

PrincessDi2004@aol.com

THE RED BADGE OF COURAGE

LAHazelIZ@aol.com
I am most definitely dreading THE SCARLETT LETTER. Not only does my school have to read the book but we have to walk around school with our own letter for a week.

HFeesh@aol.com
The book that I really do not want to read is LORD OF THE FLIES. I saw the movie when I was really young and so I know what is going to be happening and it is disgusting.

graphicgirl@hotmail.com
I am right now being tortured by OTHELLO. I foolishly thought I could skip reading the book and just go see "O" the movie, but I was very, very wrong. I mean, I know Shakespeare is supposed to be this genius, but I just don't get it.

cherrybomb99@yahoo.com
A TALE OF TWO CITIES by Charles Dickens, up next on the list -- HELP!!!!

Jazzmin88@hotmail.com
Dude, I am so over having to read THE CRUCIBLE. It's lame.

smpreston@yahoo.com
THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA by Hemingway. There's an old man. He's on a boat. Fishing. Page after page of an old man, on a boat, fishing. Old man. Boat. Fish. Need I go on?
